I've gotten several interviews during said follow-up call or very soon after.

I can't figure out why, but the modern job market seems to value persistence.

I thnik it really depends on the employer. In my experience, big corporations who usually hire en-masse really don't care about who you are, they just want to know whether you'll do the job they want you to do.

It's hard to even get a hold of the person you need to talk to with those places, and even when you do they really don't seem to care. I'm one who definitely needs positive feedback, and I'm almost always one to assume the worst as well, so that's probably my biggest fallback in terms of motivation.

unf unf unf I tried laying down some guitar, but it doesn't sound great(I'm just running my acoustic through a little practice amp with a weeeee tiny bit of overdrive). Friend of mine has a gorgeous strat he doesn't play that I might ~~steal~~ be able to borrow. Also, I'm not so sure about the tab I'm using. It's nice to see this thing come back to life though

It's guitar #2 on this tab. I did all of the parts from guitar one, but I learned the chord progressions from this guys video. I have the drum and guitar 1 down already, and can send your way if you want. Just need an email. Feel free to add all of the pizazz you want. I tried to make it a bit more fun with the rhythms in the thing I recorded. I'm open to change anything if you want, too.
