Fireside Chats With RazI welcome you this fine evening to a fireside chat about Modern Warfare 2.Tonight's topic: The M203 Rifle Mounted Grenade Launcher. The M203, better known as the ‘noob tube’ is a weapon attachment infamously branded as an element that is both overpowered, and extremely noobish. This attachment has become so widespread that it is the gripe of every self-respecting MW2 player, and the gleeful giggle of the young and immature throughout. Many have called for a fix to this overpowered under barrel death dealer, but none have offered a good solution. I have consulted with a trusted colleague about this manner and we have come to an acceptable and fair conclusion, but first let me guide you through the options considered: -Only allow for one grenade to be carried -Do not allow for M203 grenades to be gathered from the Scavenger perk -Do not allow for the use of the M203 during the first 15 seconds of any match -Do not allow for the restocking of grenades using the One Man Army perk -Reduce the damage of the M203 -Reduce the damage of the M203 when using the Danger Close perk -Remove the M203 After thorough discussion, a conclusion has been reached. Remove the M203. Though many may find this option a bit extreme, the secondary weapon known as the Thumper is an acceptable alternative with a few minor modifications. If the Thumper were modified to resemble the M203 in many of its qualities, having the M203 as an attachment would be redundant and the functions would still be fulfilled. Removing the M203 would have significant ramifications, but would improve the overall game play of MW2. The grenade launcher adds healthy variety to game and should not be removed; however, removing the M203 forces players to choose the Thumper as a secondary, restricting them from selecting another secondary weapon that may give another advantage, such as the One Man Army perk.
