Some Rooster! Some Teeth!Good Gloaming [GMT+2], Mates!Today is my "RL" birthday, so I figured my much- belated anniversary journal would be an apposite addendum. I've run out of dilatory tactics, so the journal must be written tonight. As I stated two journals prior, the mot justes have unfortunately gone cold, so I'm jerry-writing it. Ah, [insert age here] of otiose endeavors. Here's to suffering many more years of doleful emptiness and futility. As a goat with a fishes tail, I reserve myself the right to bleat about everything. That's about the only perk to being a goat. My birthday is the least exclusive day I know. Not only do I share it with such highly rated hominids as Jim Croce, George Foreman, Rod Stewart, Scott McKenzie, and Pat Benatar, but also with persons of such formic significance as Frank Sinatra, Jr. and Paul Dimaggio. Also, today in history, Ol' Julius crossed the rubicon. "Happy" Birthday to me! ![]() *Journal Undulates* ![]() *November 30th* It seems like only three years ago that I was signing up for an account here. From the obsidian to the alabaster, the American to their headlice, the Canadians, and from the veterans to the neophytes, we run the gamut of users. I haven't a doubt we're the most eclectic community on the internet. The last year has seen me the most active since I signed on. While I am doing my best to sift through the memories to locate the good ones, I'm afraid my brain only does umbrella repression, so alas, nothing comes ot mind. While among my most active, it has certainly not been among my best. I have been prima facie pigeon-holed as a pretentious, pleonastic troll. This somewhat sullied what otherwise might've been a wonderful year. Stuck between Scylla & Charybdis, I was more often than not defenestrated wherever I posted. My invidious fustian generated such opprobrium, I found it impossible to ensconce myself in any forum! The soupçon of sang-froid possessed by users, thread and BAR, was never enough to spare me from the execration & excoriation. I consequentially spent most of my time fossicking through ossiferous threads for the more halcyon past, laughing or being utterly mortified by two and even three-year-old conversations. I've lost the majority of my "friends" on this site, as evinced by the fact that I get an average of 3 comments out of approximately 115 watchers. Still, it was through these daily forum excursions that I discovered just what a parochial poster I was. This was also a tad depressing, and I attempted to expand my proverbial horizons. Alas, my attempts have hitherto failed. Perhaps when I reactivate *ellipses* And then, of course, AOIO. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I was just curious as to when words became a form of currency. can one use it in tandem with actual money? That must be why haggling drives prices down. *rimshot At any rate, this is my impression of the AOIO thread: ![]() I haven't been involved with the project since I arrived, but I hope to get back in once I return to the states. I haven't even seen the new videos! I do hope it wasn't simply du jour. The "AOIO thread" [a.k.a "The 'Shut up you pretentious prick' thread"] was entirely devoted to vilifying CountCaboose. I admit I'm not all that fussed. I always wanted to be popular, but infamy is a close second, and indeed, during my stint as a troll I became among the most notorious on the site. As for the BAR, which I lurked in for a good long while before being espied and debarred, I have never witnessed such wonderful banter. It is a pity that persiflage, the lingua franca or the internet, should be spoken by so few on the site. The vicissitude of the conversations, ranging from the serious to the salacious to the utterly bizarre, was quite entertaining. I have never seen a better bunch of profligates, sybarites, and depraved intellectuals. The quintessential 'den of iniquity'. Here's another 1000 words: ![]() What I love most about the BAR, however, is how information percolates down the forums; how our chthonian friends and their rabelaisian ways ascend and sunder whichever user has incurred their displeasure, then return to the depths from whence they came. The place, like most of the threads here, is a veritable vespiary, and one ought to be careful about which pebbles he lobs. There is, however, a comity of forums, and, to a lesser extent, threads. Also, since this year, whenever I think of the majority of the Moderators, I think: ![]() That is not to say that I've become bitter over the last year. Au contraire, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself! I miss my old friends, but I am quite satisfied with the current crop! I loved Reconstruction and all the PSAs, and I shall remain a chauvinistic adherent to Rooster Teeth ad infinitum. It has been a while since I watched RvB, commented on journals, or posted in the forums, but beware, I'M COMIN' BACK! RedvsBlue: 912y 337d 13h 5m *Return Pending* ![]() ![]() ![]() |
