What lies in store for 2009? As long as people are still having premarital sex with many anonymous partners while at the same time experimenting with mind-expanding drugs in a consequence free environment, I'll be sound as a pound!

I won an award...

... okay, so I didn't win an award I just got a profile award. "Won't shut the fuck up" for 20k posts. For those who know me "won't shut the fuck up" sounds about right.

Nothing else going on in my life right now apart from the fact I'm baking some bread.

I do not mean to pry, but you don't by any chance happen to have six fingers on your right hand?

Sorry but I feel no need to have conversed with you. I preemptively determined you were worthless some time ago. I decided to let it go. You seem incapable of doing the same. Hence proving my point.

I was content to leave you alone. You however, not so much to me. Fuck off, and see a doctor about your rectal cranial inversion problem you've got going on.

As you have pre-emtively blocked me from your profile I am forced to reply to you on my own comments page. I have no intention of blocking you because I do not fear discourse with others of opposing views. So here is my reply.

For someone who claims to be able to let stuff go you sure have a hard time when it comes to the government. You've apparently been crusading against them since you were an infant so clearly you're not good at it because they're still there and they're going strong. Anyway, moving on, I don't care what you think or believe. I don't care if you are content with making ill-informed statements and presenting them as fact. I don't care what you choose to do with your life but it does annoy me when someone presents an opinion as a fact and are happy to let others believe what is essentially a lie, then refuse to let anyone attempt to tell them the truth. That kind of brainwashing I don't agree with.

Oooh gotchya, thank you for explaining. Alrighty, lemme try to explain my thinking here.

Just because I enjoy the book Fahrenheit 451 doesn't mean I support the ideology behind essentially
destroying history, same could be said of 1984. The content of something can be enjoyed without my supporting the implementation of it in the real world. I.E. Randian ideology.

I can enjoy both sides of the spectrum when it comes to Atlas Shrugged and Bioshock because both are fictional stories and both do an amazing job at relaying their story across in different ways.

I admire the writing and the flow the story Rand puts forth as much as I do the development of characters through audio logs in Bioshock. I suppose I can see why you might think it to be unusual. In reality I'm a huge book nerd. Well-written books with a different take on possible outcomes make me giddy. And video games have become to new book in a way.

The book can be hugely analyzed in so many different ways from philosophy to government. When a book makes the kind of impact that Atlas Shrugged, 1984, or others have it sort of speaks for itself. That's why such books are favorites of mine I suppose. The reactions they can instill in the readers.

Sorry, trying not to ramble here. Think I sort of did anyhow.

As I said with Chi_Mangetsu.
Atlas Shrugged is possibly one of my favorite books in the history of literature. It is a fantastic read about possible outcomes of certain actions, and for gamers who just aren't into the classical-sort of Literature than just go pick up a copy of Bioshock which liberally applied Rand's ideas into a game-setting. The entire time I played that game I kept picking up huge references to the book.

No bubble burst since I'm still a little confused as to where both you and your friend are getting these ideas of mine?

I said it was a favorite book, and Bioshock used quite a few of the ideas in their own setting. I didn't realize that by saying a game mentioned a book that I enjoyed was saying the same thing as "Bioshock is a remake of the book and so there." It takes Rand's ideas, and then runs with them in a different direction. I didn't claim them to be re-making the book into a game. That'd be silly.

I have read both 1984, and Brave New World. Both good reads. Thank you for the much more civil comment, but I'm noticing a theme of assuming things of other people here.

My comment has nothing to do with the situation at hand here. It is a statement based on the observations I've made in my lifetime, nothing more.

If anything, it heralds a warning to all those that would seek to do what I have seen happen.
