The Steampunk Noir RP (1958)

The Steampunk Noir RP (1958)

Mister D. Bunny

Character Sheet Format

Name: Mister D. Bunny {The "D" stands for "Dusty"}

Nickname: DB to fellow artificers and Dead Eye Bomber to fellow WWII USAAF veterans.

Profession: A Member in Good Standing in the The Worshipful Company of Tin Plate Workers as well as the Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers In other words, a tinker or artificer.

Skills/Training: The tradition of tinker or artificer is one handed down through the generations or through internship. In my case, it has been a family tradition passed down through the generations.

Equipment: Tools of the trade, so to speak. Snips, Crimps, pliers, drivers, etc; regarding weapons, there are always some about the workshop with a few fully functional and loaded while most are in various states of repair and/or adjustment.

Appearance:
Average height and a bit plump about the middle. Definitely balding and with narrow eyes that lack expression. Age is well past middle and a general facial appearance of having stopped ageing with features carved in flesh rather than stone. Expression is in the hands with scarring apparent from cuts to burns due to years of intricate work. Around town, a sleeveless coat with multiple pockets both inside and out and well worn workingman’s pants finished out with steel toed boots. For a hat, an old officer’s hat with the brass removed.

Date of Birth: August 28, 1921

Gender: Male

History: Educated in my trade at home with general knowledge gained through the American Public Education System; completing two years of college when the War broke out. Enlisted in the Army Air Force and washed out as a pilot and became a bombardier as well as the back up navigator. During times of inclement weather when the squadron was down, assisted in rebuilding the bombing sights as well as other equipment and weapons used in the bombers. After the war, mustered out and lived with my Grandfather while assisting in the rebuilding of London and applied for citizenship. Due to connections of my Grandfather, citizenship was quickly granted and I partnered with him in the business and became the sole owner when he passed.

Legal Status: Naturalized Citizen.

Other: During the War, my Grandfather assisted in the war effort through various black projects from both MI5 and MI6. He also did special work for the OSS as well as the Russians at a time then they were England’s Allies. He maintained his contacts, even with the Russians, but his loyalty was always to Mother England. With his death and my taking over the business, British Intelligence as well as the CIA contacted me and requested that I continue in his stead. His Russian friends also contacted me but, while friendly, I insisted that if a joint project was launched, I would be happy to assist but respectfully declined to work for the KGB unless British or American Intelligence was also intimately involved.

Regarding services rendered; all manner of repairs to normal as well as "unique" items. Black project items range from specialized weapons, silencers, spy gadgets and explosive devices.

I'll keep an Eye out and mediate if I have to. I may be able to defuse the problem but I couldn't say yet since I don't know what it is.

Well you've got my approval. normally I'd make a deal out the name not being a name in real life but I've been told to be more lenient. I've also been told you're a good RPer so there you go.

I've already asked this once in the new thread.

Why does someone infused with nanites die if exposed to an EMP? I know it kills electronics, but wouldn't the nanites simply stop working and the person once again becomes suceptible to injury?

He only had it as a last resort to make sure you wouldn't one shot kill him from orbit with a MAC bombardment. We agreed to try to work things out for both sides. You decided otherwise, it doesn't matter now anymore, you've made your decision to end the thread, I won't waste my breath.

We have enough weapons in orbit to make sure he can't go anywhere, hell I don't think he'll even be able to get off the ground.

Ah!

The Civvies outnumber the Mafia about 2 to 1 to start the game. I had 10 Mafia to 19 Non-mafia.

The key to the game is coordination and communication. If the Mafia are organized and participate, they can win the game. Otherwise they are sure to lose because of the favorable numbers that the Civvies have.

With it currently being 10 to 5 remaining, it is still an open game.

Also, special roles can balance out a game (at least make it more interesting).

Thank you.

I am not running a particular story line on the surface. I'm just moderating the struggle between the Mafia attempting to take control of the town and the Citizens trying to maintain it.

Basically, the Moderator (me in this case) dies in the opening whack where clues are left in the story that point to one or more of the Mafia. The Cop and the Bodyguard are the only known Civilians (the Mafia know who each other are). There is a discussion about what may be clues in the whack and who a prime Mafia person to investigate is. Once that is determined, the Cop sends in an Investigation Vote. The Mod then reveals to the Cop whether that person is Mafia or Civvie. The Cop then posts an Investigation Story stating whether the target was Mafia or Civvie.

Then the Lynch Voting begins.

Everyone votes in the Lynch (Mafia and Civvie) with whoever getting the most votes dies in a manner determined by the Moderator.

Once the Lynch is over, the Mafia then choose a Whack Target and the Bodyguard chooses someone to Protect (not always a known Civvie). If the Bodyguard protects the Whack Target, the Whack fails and there are no clues left in the Whack Story.

That's the Basic Version of the game.

In the advanced version of the game, there can be Special Roles handed out. So far in my game there have been a Psycho (kills pretty much at random - may vary a bit from game to game), 2 Bombs (the Bomb can kill someone from the grave if killed in a whack or lynch), and an Unknown (at this time).

I've instituted Inactive Comas/Deaths in my game this round at the urging of previous Moderators. If someone is inactive for an extended period of time (at the discretion of the Moderator), a Player may go into a coma or die (again, Moderator's discretion). In my game, I'm putting in the story that a character(s) have gone into a coma. This is a warning that if you haven't been voting or paying attention to the game, you need to do so immediately. Otherwise, you may go from being comatose to dead.

So far two players have died due to inactivity with two more on their death beds.

There are currently 10 Civilians left and 5 Mafia.

The objective is to outlive the other team.

The cycle goes:

Whack
Investigation
Lynch
Whack
Investigation
Lynch
Day Off
(repeat until game is over)

I plan on doing a bit of a debriefing after the game is over to clear up a few things and to point out where things may have been handled a bit differently.

I'm glad that you and the others are enjoying the stories - that is what makes the game enjoyable to me.

Is there anything that you are unclear about?
