General FAQ Red vs Blue FAQ Video FAQ Website FAQ Email FAQ Sponsorship FAQ
| All about our videos and how to watch them | Q: When will you release a divx version of episode 43? A: Maybe never. Due to some software incompatibility we encountered we are unable to render a version of that video. | Q: How do I watch the videos? A: Just right click and select SaveTarget As... on the file you want to watch. Select where you want to download it and when it's done you can watch it. | Q: What formats are the files in? A: All the videos are in Windows Media Format, Quicktime 6.5 or DivX formats. | Q: Why aren't the videos bigger? A: The videos are 320x240 to save bandwidth. Our first series, Red vs Blue regularly chewed up 170 Terrabytes of downloads in a month. | Q: Is that a lot? A: The average hard drive is about 40 GB. Imagine a stack of hard drives so tall it reaches the moon. Then climb up that stack and punch the moon in the face. | Q: Is that a yes? A: I don't care. | Q: Will you make videos in [insert some random video format that only you like]? A: Probably not. We make WMV for windows, QT for Mac and DivX for Linux. If you run OS/2 or the Vic 20 operating system, you're going to have to get used to disappointment. | Q: I run the video and all I get is video and no sound or sound but no video or no sound and video but I see a bottle of ketchup. What's up? A: You probably need to upgrade your DivX, Quicktime or Windows Media Player. That last guy needs to stop looking in his refridgerator. To upgrade to the latest version, check the links at the top of the video page. | Q: What do you use to make the videos? A: We use 4 Xbox 360s, Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Audition, and a Canopus video capture card all on a PC running Windows XP Professional. | Q: What's the deal with Flash? A: Since everyone just discovered you can host video online (amazing!), a lot of sites have cropped that want to be the next online TV network. Unfortunately, there are now more sites offering to host content than people actually making content. We had to start using Flash so that the people would come watch our shows here before gluing ads on them and posting them on corporate sites. |
