Since the New Year we've had a rather surprising amount of snow, and living on a steep hill this has caused a few problems... probably best summed up by this photo:
Yes that's a van doing a 180 degree pirouette past our house.
One of my co-workers reversed into my car in the car park at work just before Christmas, so I've been given a hire car that HAS NO GRIP in the snow. So when I tried to go to work on tuesday I actually got negative distance travelled to work. (Car abandoned just out of picture). There was so much ice under the snow that half an hour after that photo was taken another van tried to drive past and slid sideways into my hire car. An hour after that a tractor turned up to tow the van from the photo out of the snow, and it stopped with an inch between the side of the van and the back corner of the hire car. I had to push the van sideways and roll my car further down the hill to get out of it's way. Consequently we're stuck in. I did manage to get a lift to work today, and tomorrow I've worked out a hour long bus trip that should be clear after I hike to the bus stop to get to work again.
Actually, that's an interesting thought - considering last time I encountered PTerry I felt I shoved my feet so far into my mouth that I wondered how I didn't fall down (something about the earth not helping by failing to open up swallow me when needed?), having something semi-interesting to say this time...
Ah, so even more things to drum out... It's good that it means you can customise the game, focus it to your preferred style of music. It's just a shame that it hits the wallet every time...
