There was a system that came out a LOOOONG time ago. I'm talkin' pre-NES days *I believe* that was made by Texas Instruments? It was called TI- and some number, but I can't remember. We had one back in the day and it was freakin great! I wanted to know if anyone knew about it so I can find out how I could get another one. The system itself was just a keyboard that plugged into the TV. The catridges plugged into the right or left side of the board and the joysticks were simply that... joysticks with a button on top. If anyone knows about this, let me know. If you had one yourself, feel free to comment on it here.
Yes I know! I actually seen it somewhere the other day and I was wondering if that was it. It was on the internet somewhere, but I just can't freakin' remember!!! It had to be on here because there's not hardly any other sites I visit.
It's like TI-59 or something like that.... GRRRRRR!!!!
does anyone remember the Sega CD? just wonderin but yea i think its something like the TI-99/4A like sonicsean said but it was an awsome console even tho im not old enough to even appreciate it but my dad says it was awsome
In reply to sonicsean, #4: Thank you SO much! I couldn't ever think of that name of the system. I just played it. I just can't believe my dad threw the damn thing away.
In reply to Hiq, #5: Well... the Sega CD really isn't like the TI. For one, the Sega CD came out in the 90s, where the TI was the early 80s. Plus... CDs didn't exist back then. And three.... the graphics are TOTALLY different.
But good comment. Let's keep this going in that fashion. If you remember something from your childhood like that, bring it up and discuss it.
Yes, I loved the times I spent playing Earthworm Jim 2 on the Genesis... awesome game. The only thing is, for some reason... I CAN'T FIND ANY OF MY GENESIS GAMES!!! I didn't have too many good ones... but I did have some. I need to start working on the Genesis part of my collection next.... I need more money!
At my mom's parents my brother and I played with a NES and then a SNES, when the first one finally broke. But at my other grandparents' we had an Atari. Has anyone here ever played one of those? We also used to have a Commadore 64 (it was a really old type of computer...I think) that had Olympics and Tank III at our house. Dang, those were the days.
You do have a nice collection of soft ware how long have you been collecting?
Since I was three. The only games that I don't have from my childhood are Q*Bert and Snake Rattle N Roll... but I recently bought both of those back. Did you look at my pic in my journal or did you check out my game collection from my profile? I'll look at yours if you look at mine..... ahem.... well..... that didn't come out right....
I didn't get an Atari until recently, but my neighbor had one when I was a kid and we was always playing Stampede and Pitfall... well those are the ones I remember the most. I also remember playing Ms. Pacman in the ice cream store when I was little. BUT! The most memorable arcade machine moment in my life.... I was walking through the store and saw a game on the arcade machine. I didn't think much of it at first, but when we came back I HAD to get my mits on it. It was none other than Super Mario Bros. 3 on the arcade.... that game rocked my face!
I Looked at both very nice, I have been collecting for about 15 years. I have over 1100 games on about thirty formats many of the consoles i have two or three as back-ups. Since the pics i now have Lynx, Jaguar, 3DO and the original Space Invaders Coin-op.
That's freakin sweet. I wish I started seriously collecting when I was little, but alas, I didn't. Pretty much I didn't have any money as a kid 'cause I didn't get an allowance. Plus, the only time I ever got video games was birthdays and Christmas. Occasionally I would get a 20 spot and I would spend it immediately on some obscure NES game.
Coolest and most surprising thing, I was at this church up in Murphresboro, TN (MTSU), and we were told to not go into the nursery, so we went EVERYWHERE else. We was up in the youth room, and when I walked out I saw magic.... It was a coin-op of one of the best "baller" games ever created... Arch Rivals. It wasn't plugged up and I don't even know if it works, but I still want to call that church up and ask if it's for sale.... I doubt it though.
I do have a few more games that I got recent that's not on that list... I really need to update.
Let's keep this going... what other old system or obscure but awesome title do you remember?
I'm too young for Atari, unfortunately, but I distinctly remember getting my ass whooped by my brother in NES Ice Hockey and RBI Baseball, and watching him beat Chaos on the original Final Fantasy. I later got it from him when he went to college and eventually sold it for Banjo-Kazooie. Don't chew me out, I already know what a BIG ASS mistake this was, but I was only about 9 or 10 at the time. I'm STILL kicking myself in the ass over it.....*snif*
The NES or Final Fantasy? If it's the latter, then that's not too bad, you can find it pretty easily. But, if you sold your brother's NES for Banjo Kazooie..... boy the blood would flow! Haha! I actually still have my original NES that I got back when I was about 4 or 5, but it don't work to well, and I also have another front loader that works very well and a top loader that's flawless, of course. ;-)
..... I love the NES!!!
Mike Tyson's Punch Out!..... classic. Ya know, it took me up until about 2 years ago to beat Mike Tyson. Yeah, I always gave up, so I had my friend there pushing me and pushing me to keep playing, and I finally got a TKO in the 3rd Round..... VERY tough. I would say one of the toughest final "boss" on a game. *I don't know about Ninja Gaiden 2 or 3 because I can't even get close to the final boss on it* Ah the memories....
Ezi man, The oldest title i still have is Rambo 3 For the Amstrad CPC464. It's on a audio tape and it still works it must be over twenty years old.

God, I was at a Gamestop like 3m onths ago..trying to pawn off an old system for some cash...There was a problem. The people at Gamestop said that the System I offered them didn't exist and wasn't real, Well granted it was overshadowed quickly my parents were all about the 'add-ons' for the Sega Genisis. I'm talking Sega CD and the (one I was talking about) 32X, I have like three games for it, including doom, some weird ass tech-mech game and then something about a jumping emu...I know they're was a shinobi game out for it that I wanted but never got...(I cry about this nightly)
I'm not a huge Genesis fan anyhow. I do need to go pick up ComixZone for the Genesis cause that game rocked!
Well frankly, for the longest time I was a Sega cult like follower...but yes, you need Comix Zone...it was the only thing I would play on my Nomad besides Sonic & Knuckles for the longest time ^_^
It was definately an awesome game. There for a while I couldn't remember the name of it, until we got it where I used to work at, and I've been meaning to pick it up ever since.
A game that I had a harder time on.... well, I'm going to see if you can figure it out. The game was played like Contra, you can have 2 players playing at the same time, but it was a western game. At one point you're even riding horseback. What's the name of the game.
Hint: Super NES and I believe it was on Genesis also.
