I'm sure all of you guys know what I'm talking about when I say XBL and Halo 2 has gotten rediculous with the main 2 culprits.
-Mass Cheating -Mass profanity
Let's do something about it.
Instead of shrugging off cheaters after a match and leaving feedback, pursue them with a Email to: H2cheats@microsoft.com and provide details of who was cheating, what were they doing, your gamertag, and a link to the match.
Instead of making a profane comment right after you nail your opponent with the shotgun and teabag him, keep your mouth shut. It will keep the general mood much more civil. Next time your at the post-game lobby, instead of talking about how much you owned the other team, or acting like a piss-hat because they annihilated you with the sniper rifle, be mellow. If your pissed off about how the match went, don't say anything at all and quit. If the match you played with them was fun, and you liked their attitude, party up with them. Comraderie is a powerful thing and it never hurts to pass the buck on.
Don't try to abuse H2 online structure with De-leveling. It's a rude act to your fellow players and destroys the balance of the rank system.
I like your reasoning, but I have my own ways of dealing with such people online. I feel that simply leaving the post game right after you finish the games is rude and cowardly. I don't try to smacktalk, I patiently wait for the other team to set themselves up for a burn. I then take it into my own hands to make them feel life failures in life and wait for them to leave the post-game first. (Not exactly the nicest thing to do, but love and kindness can't fix everything).
The cheating definately needs to stop though. Its just getting rediculous. The other day, I got modded in a Team Training game... what the heck is the point of modding in a Team Training game? Seriously, I don't understand why people mod. Sure, I don't like loosing myself, but degrading myself like that would only tick me off even more...
As for the profanity... I realy can't judge people for what they say. I'll admit, I curse myself. But most of the time I just curse at myself, I try not to curse at other. I just get very disapointed at myself and simple random things that don't go in my favor.
I agree with cursing....I mean I'm all for shouting out "son of a bitch!" when a sniper rifle hits me, or like when I'm telling my teammates information "I told you he has a fucking rocket launcher! What part of Fuck and Rocket Launcher didn't you understand?"
But it's bad to antagonise people...especially in the post game lobby...although I absolutely understand where your coming from...I think we all do that a bit.
I almost never talk shit; the only time I do is in customs with my friends, and even then it's totally harmless and all in fun.
Yeah, though, I'm all about sending e-mails and leaving feedback. When I get someone who screams and cusses I leave them feedback, if they cheat I leave them cheating feedback plus cursing, screaming and threats. You know, just every little bit to help either bungie or Live see that these guys are an issue.
I'm sure if every single person in every single game with these kinds of bad behavior left the proper feedback, we'd start to see a better crowd on Live. The problem is so many people just don't bother with the feedback system, so nothing ever gets taken care of.
.....if you dont like profanity why the hell do you watch redvsblue?
good question........
No, I don't mean the casual "taunt" insult......I mean the guys who go up to you and say fuckin bitch while they beat you down, or the guys who bitch that you camped on that hill near the train in terminal calling you a dipshit.
We don't need that. It's not neccessary to have fun, or to play the game.
I forgot to mention muting........so +1 karma to you.
There is no telling how much I've muted people who realy made me mad. But you have to love it when people talk bull to you then out of no where you win the game and they just shut-up.
i have muted plenty of ppl so profanity is no real problem for me, as for modding/cheating i hate it but it barely ever happens to me cause i always get host with my internet connection and when i do i dont really do much beyond leaving feedback cause i know ill get it back, but ill pass the message onto my friends that play all the time
.........why dont you guys just mute the people who start talking shit in the pregame lobby?
i do that, any time that someone says something really dumb.... or even an insult to me in general i just mute them as soon as the game starts,........ that way they will just give up on the insults( works for me, i play with some of my friends online and they tell me if the stupid person gives up or not........)
I think you should have to pass some kind of standardized test to play XBL. That way we could eliminate all those idiots out there and keep the game more clean and fun for all. awww
i think in h3 they should make you run through a voice training so that it recognizes your voice when you say "I'm a deranker" or "i'm a modder" or "i'm going to standby" of course if this could be bad in some aspects such as if you were quoting someone or you were just joking or you said something different but it thought you said something bad overall this is probably a bad idea but I'm just suggesting
If I had a mod point I'd give it to you. I have been saying this for while. Though not really about the curseing :) recent post by me in the "Man Have you listened to your 12 year old lately."
"Man I know this is off topic about what yall are talking about but recently I rerelized why I stoped playing Halo2. I only heard about one good game after about 10 matches with different people. I have been playing Battlefield 2 modern combat for the xbox and I haven't heard any arguements and hardly any cursing. The only cursing I have heard is out of anger that they died but no arguements after word because everyone understands that the insult is not perosnaly against them but only the fact that they got mad for being killed. I was calling people prick out of anger and some guy tried top argue with me. It's the kind of gamers that the game has brought in.............it's sad. My new moto is only play the FPSs' that have mature people in them and only get Halo 3 because of the game and not online. I might have to go to PC gaming and that's a step backwords with the new consales."
