while RvB has some of the best jokes i've ever heard, has anyone else noticed that their subtle jokes are great too. maybe it's just me, but i love subtle jokes. it's like, the escense of comedy. what do you think?
my favorite subtle joke is when Wyoming gets that call about the bounty on Tucker and he says "mmhmm....spell that with a T or an F do you?....oh ok, i thought you said something else"
Yes, I also loved that one too. It's the fact that you don't always have to know what the beginning of the sentence was, just that the punchline is soo out of context that it is funny. Like Tucker - "and he says, *Read it? I already ruined it!*" So funny.
I like the one where Griff says to Simmons right as Donut first appears "And then you said, 'I'm not going to the Vegas Quadrant' The next thing I know, your in an escape pod..." This is about the guy who plays Simmons not wanting to go to Las Vegas one time. Great...
That's what you'd call an in-joke, I think, since the creators are the only ones who would really get it. There's a couple others like the fact that Grif keeps thinking that Simmons is Mexican when, in reality, Simmons' voice actor actually is Mexican and how Caboose's first name and initial "Michael J." is Burnie's real first name and initial.
I think that the funniest one is when they find the switch and tucker is al hunkered down lookin at it and the red team comes over and is like "what are you doin?"... its a subtle blowjob joke
well i like the christmas episode were Church wasked Caboose about santa claus and then whispers in his ear....the u can only make out a few words like "yea and hes a chick too" but the rest is just whispers and caboose runs away screaming..........my mind filled in the blank spots extremely well and had me laughing for a long time
lol, that was a funny/screwed up episode, but that wasn't subtle at all lol
and true, when you don't know what they're saying, it can be pretty funny to fill things in with ur mind too. but when it comes to the guys at RT, they can come up with better stuff then what ur mind can come up with sometimes
there was a kinda subtle joke in the ep when omalley was in doc when he was talking to vic and vic was wierded out by omalley talking about eating his kids and vic is like 'doesnt matter, the plumbing doesnt work' or whatever
lol, that was in no way subtle. they made a huge deal out of it. i loved that joke though "winkey blinky the one eyed cowboy's firin' blanks....if ya know what i mean"

I just realized something, Simmons' full name is given as Dick Simmons, as in Richard Simmons. Do you think there's any connection between him and that weird fitness trainer guy of the same name?
