Flaw was a Nu Metal band from Louisville, Kentucky. However, despite their genre, their sound contained a diversity that went beyond the boundaries of their Nu Metal classification.

Flaw has quite a different style compared to that heard within the sound of other Nu Metal bands.

Flaw's guitar work is intricate; it flows with the song, yet isn't so simplistic that it follows the drums. Their bass lines have major funk influence, but not to the point of it becoming fusion. Flaw also totes the typical funk-influenced drumlines; Metal-esque but not basic in their nature or sound. Chris Volz' voice also lent itself to the style of the band's sound, with a seemingly unusual rise and fall that incorporated melodic harmonies and screams of rage.

Band members

The line-up featured on the album Through the Eyes -

* Chris Ballinger: drums
* Chris Volz: vocals
* Jason Daunt: guitar, keyboards
* Lance Arny: guitar
* Ryan Jurhs: bass, background vocals

The line-up featured on the album Endangered Species -

* Micah Havertape: drums
* Chris Volz: vocals
* Lance Arny: guitar
* Ryan Jurhs: bass, acoustic guitar

I do have to say for being a Nu Metal band they werent bad.
Though I dont listen to them anymore, I just cant stand Nu Metal anymore, it's gotten too annoying for my ears. But they were definitely one of the better acts.

Endangered species wasn't near as good as through the eye's. Still can't get enough of Amendment, Scheme, What I have to do and Best I am. Payback was overplayed

I have only ever heard 'Best I am' once on a radio station in Australia... they never play them here... which is quite unfortunate

Eh don't feel left out. They NEVER play flaw where I'm at...to tell you the truth they don't play anything good down here in FL it's all either rap or that emo pop rock bullshit. It's acctualy a miracle if you hear the likes of metallica or even rarer to hear pantera or anything talented!

That song acctualy was pretty good but only till the 5th time they played it within the same damn day. I was mostly paying attention to santana on that song anyways. Took me till like the 3rd time to realize it was Rob.

They were acctualy but I guess there was something to do with the booking or contract licensing or something like that. I saw them when they were on ozzfest I think it was. Hung out with them while they were walkin around killin time before they went onstage. I can't remember the drummer's name right now...But he's one crazy mofo....and damn does he love boobies....kinda like me ^_^

Well thats part of the reason I posted about it. As of now I guess it just Chris Volz and a drummer. I guess the other band members left :(
