Personally, i never played the original much. but yes, there is going to be a new earthbound finally. there was going to be one for the 64, but it got trashed for the making of Super Smash Brothers.
so, discuss what you think about the new Earthbound here. everyone loves a kid with a head the size of the rest of his body
It was seriously an awesome game. at one stage you had to fight a scalding cup of coffee and loaded dice! good times. If (or when) there's a sequal, do you want ness's storyline to continue, or a new story, like what earthbound 64 was planned to be? I want to find out what happened to pokey, personally. though they'll have to make it good though, or fans will fall on nintendo like a pile of Psi bricks.
Ness has awesome powers, thats what makes him fun is SSBM. The only games I ever playe don NES and SNES are zelda games, but my friend owns earthbound. He said it was as fun as mario.
you know what's weird/ironic? Ness was originally in Earthbound. Earthbound wound up only have one game in the series so far. SSB has Ness as a character. there are TWO SSB games. more then the actual series that Ness is in
except for Mother. but Ness wasn't in that. it's just that it's the first of the mother seiries. eatrhbound is Mother 2. but i guess you knew that already...
It was a poorly animated yet highly addictive RPG for SNES. I still say that to this day, it has the best story dialogue of anygame ever. I think part of the poor graphics was to allow the game to be bigger han it could have been otherwise with the hardware of the time. I was stoked when I found out I actually got to own a house in it, even though it was a rundown old 1 room shack missin gthe back wall I still loved it.
BTW, this news has made me ecstatic to say the least. Now If they can come out with a DECENT sequel to Bionic Commando I will be able to die a happy man.
i never really thought the game was poorly animated. but then again, look at the RPGs pumped out on the SNES. SMRPG comes to mind. one of the best looking games of the time period IMO
I played the original Earthbound (Emulation, don't hit me. We didn't have it in Europe! =P), and I found it pretty cool. Some of it seemed tedious to me, but overall, it was pretty wacky...which I guess is what I enjoyed about it in the first place.
I picked up earthbound when it came out back in the day. Played the hell out of it. I was never able to get the gutsy bat. But I do recall digging my SNES out about 2 years ago just to play the game. If the do another it should be a sequel like Lava Piranha said.
