Okay, before anyone jumps to the wrong conclusion, yes, this is a game! We are going to be having a basic Star Trek Roleplaying game, here, on the Forums, where we can post whenever we would like. I am going to be the GM of this game. If you would like to play, please, PM me with a character setup. If you have already posted a character in the other thread, is already approved. I will make no descriminations over who and how many people would like to play, but I do need to know how many characters I am going to have to deal with as I attempt to push forward the story that I am working on. If at any time I decide that there have become too many different characters to handle, I will enlist the help of another GM and we will work together towards making this work out. Now, that being said, a little background on what we have going thus far.
The year is 2382, a few years after the Reman incident. Peace has reigned in the Alpha Quadrent since the Dominion War and the Reman Incident have both been dealt with. The Restoration of the Cardassian Union is still underway underneath the watchful eyes of the Federation, Romulan and Klingon Dominon War Alliance. Captain Sisko still has not returned from the Celestial Temple, and Bajor has become a full-fledged member of the Federation. Colonel Kira is now an Admiral in Starfleet and still commands Deep Space Nine along with five Defiant Class warships, watching over the wormhole and protecting the Alpha Quadrant. No Dominion ships have been sited in the Alpha Quadrant since their unconditional surrender, although rumors persist that there still may be founders stranded in the Alpha Quadrant. No one has seen or heard from the Borg since Admiral Janeway returned from the Delta quadrant with the miracle ship Voyager. Whether or not they are still capable of functioning as a collective and causing a problem in the future still remains to be seen. The Federation has continued its mission of exploration into the galaxy at large, attempting to forge new contacts and bring more people into the light of civilization. They have recently begun a more intensive survey of the Gamma Quadrant through the wormhole, colonizing and attempting to scout out the edges of Dominion influence and whether or not they are still a threat to Federation Security. The past few years have, however, taught Starfleet, along with the Federation and her allies, many valuable lessons. Since the Reman incident, the upper brass in Starfleet have made several mandates about the new exploration protocols. No longer will there be any one ship out on a sortie. At all times, there will be four vessel squadrons at the very least. At least three of the ships will be high combat capable, with the fourth having an ambassadorial or scientific function as it primary mission. All combat ships are now outfitted with standard forward facing quantum torpedos and a secondary shield matrix. On top of this, all vessels are now equiped with regenerative shields and ablative armor, a combination of the armor that Voyager brought back from the Delta quadrant and the armor that the original Defiant tested. This, in Starfleet's mind, has been designed to protect their ships in a more efficient fashion. Other political entities such as the Romulans, disagree however, and this has caused no end to strained relations between the two people. Relations with the Klingons have continued to improve, with Worf leading the Ambassadorial mission to the Empire and Martok still reigning as Chancellor.
This is what is currently happening in my interpretation of the Star Trek universe. We are NOT including any books and going solely off of movies and TV series.
Guidelines: 1. When you submit me a character, please include Name Age Race Sex Place of Birth Current Assignment Physical Description Personality Description 2. We can't ALL be captains of a Starship! lol I know that is what we would all love to do, but I would really prefer if a few of you took secondary positions... like, lets say a commander that is 1st officer aboard another player's or an NPC's starship. If you choose to do that in another person's ship, let me know and we can work on a reassignment thing. 3. Since I am the GM, please report to me any problems you are having with the game. If problems persist, with another player or whatever, we will bring it up to the Moderators. 4. Have fun!
(I will be including a map when I get off of work.)
Name: Galhack Freedemon Age: 500 Race: unknown Sex: all the time (male) Place of Birth: hatched from a coccoon found in the delta quadrant wich was stuck to the hull of the starship voyager. Current Assignment: mate with women of all species. Physical Description: Humanoid, red spots on back, scales instead of hair. Personality Description: Horney, verry horney.
Somehow I have no problem at all believing that you came up with that. I'll write some stuff up and PM it to 'ya later, Arizona.
EDIT: And just for my own clarification, I'm assuming this will be a text-based RPG? As in each person writes a bit of what their character does, someone else reads and reacts, etc?
Name: Vincent Age: 30 Race: Human Sex: Male Place of Birth: The Netherlands Current Assignment: Partoling the Federation/Tzenkethi border, heading up to DS9 for resupply and re-crew Physical Description: Rather tall, at about 1.88 cm. Short dark blond hair, kind of chubby, but not huge. He is an observer, and a very loyal Admiral to the Federation. Has a scare running from his left eye straight down his face untill just above where his nose ends, he was struck my debris in the Dominion attack in the Chin'Toka System. Has been decorated several times for Bravery. He is willing to put his ship and crew on the line in order to save the outnumbered. Personality Description 2. Rear Admiral in command of the USS Ghost, recently made Admiral. Lost his son during the Breen attack on San Fransisco, his son was not going to be attending Starfleet, but he was in San Fransisco at the time. His wife, was a former Marine Medic, and now serves onboard on the of the Defiants assigned to DS9, as head Nurse, she is currently training to become Doctor. Admiral Vincent is a loyal man, however he mostly keeps to himself, he is however more open then Captain Picard. He is not afaird to socialize with the crew, as he believes it will give them a moral boost. He has a passion for computers, but also arts like Holophotography and frequently creates small movies.
============================================ Admirals Log: Stardate 58600.2, we are currently patroling the Federation/Tzenkethi border, Command believes that several Tzenkethi ships have violated the border over the past 3 months and have detroyed several Dilithium frieghters headed for the Trill Homeword. We are currently running on Yellow Alert, however we have not yet encountered any Tzenkethi within the last 3 weeks, are we authorized to engage any ships from Tzenkethi space. I believe having the most power class of Federation ships on your door step, makes you think twice. Once we deliver out 4 escort freighters to Trill, we are off to Deep Space 9...I cant wait to see Rachel.
*ADMIRAL TO THE BRIDGE*
Admiral Vincent: On my way... [enters the bridge] Admiral Vincent: Report Number One.
Commander Shard: (Andorian, 1st officer) Sir, long range sensors are picking up 3 Tzenkethi attack ships heading this way on an intercept course, ETA...12 minutes. Orders?
Admiral Vincent: Send a message to the lead freighter, tell them to continue to Trill at their maximum warp. We will deal with the Tzenkethi. Red Alert, stand by Phasers and Quantum Torpedoes, note in the log that I am currently activating Federation Order 1-Alpha-67 Should any Tzenkethi Vessal enter Federation space, you are authorized to engage, and if nessecary destroy. Time until we are within comm range of the vessals?
Yes, that will be it exactly Drums. I have ideas to where this is all going to go, but the players are ultimately going to be the ones deciding the course of the action. I will be taking care of the NPCs and the enemies and stuff.
I'll post my character again, just in case. Character Name: Captain Fernando Diaz . Race: Human Origin: Earth - Old Mexico Age:39 Height: 5'11'' Weight: 195 lbs Posting: Command of the USS Adventurer, an Akira-class heavy cruiser currently under assignment on the Gamma Quadrant in an exploration mission. Physical Description: Fernando is a very athletic man. A passion for soccer since he was a boy has given him a lean, strong body. He has black hair, brown eyes and keeps a small mustache. He has a scar in his chest from debris that falled on him during the battle for Cardassia.. He's good looking and has an infectuous smile. Character Description: Fernando is a very appreciative commander. He likes to know the men and women under his command and become friends with them. In his early days, he was in the engineering division but felt the call of command when the Dominion war started. After quickly ascending through the ranks, he became the captain of the Adventurer. A knack for quickly thinking on his feet allowed him to survive the horrors of the war with his ship and crew mostly intact. If Fernando has a flaw, it's his overwhelming concern for his crew. In one assignment, he failed to pursue a ship containing vital information of Dominion tactical deployment because it would jeopardize the life of his first officer. Although he was severly reprimanded for this, Fernando was spared demotion because the brass felt that they couldn't afford to lose commanding officers. Fernando was quick to redeem himself by capturing the info with no loss of life. He takes his assignment gladly, as he wants to return to the life of an explorer.
============================================================================ Captain's log, Stardate 58605.1: We have begun investigation of a subspace irregularity on the other side of the wormhole. The T'kundra, the science ship in our squadron, has reported to me that this phenomenon is something that they have never seen before, and they are very eager to begin probing it. The other ships in the squadron, the Archangel and the Tenenbaum, suffered damages to their warp drive during our passage through a nebula. The T'Kundra requested that we proceed without them, because they believe the phenomenon is unstable, and might not last very long. I am wary of this because we don't know what dangers the irregularity might posses, but I am confident that if things go bad, my crew will act immediately. I am also uneasy of our proximity to Dominion space. Although we haven't heard from them in quite some time, I will keep alert for signs of any trouble.
[com beeps] Lt. Cmdr. T'Suran (Vulcan, science officer):T'Suran to Captain.
Captain Diaz: Go ahead, Commander.
Lt. Cmdr. T'Suran: Captain, the T'Kundra has begun scanning and launching probes to the irregularity. The probes will reach the center of the phenomenon in approximately 5 minutes and 22 seconds.
Captain Diaz: Very well, Commander. I am heading to the bridge right now. Diaz out.
[enters the bridge] Captain Diaz: Report.
Cmdr. Jefferson (human, 1st officer): The probes have just entered the outskirts of the irregularity. They will reach the center in 2 minutes.
Captain Diaz: Very well, Commander. Inform the T'Kundra that as soon as they receive the telemetry from the probes, we will warp out of this sector and rendevous with the other ships. I don't want to spend more time in this place than I have to.
Ensign Velanos (Bajoran, ops): Captain, long range sensors are detecting some unusual warp signatures on an intercept course, heading 250, mark 35. They will reach us in 12 minutes.
Captain Diaz: Are they Dominion ships?
Ensign Velanos: Unsure, Captain. Their configuration is not in our databank. I detect a massive energy buildup. It could be weapons, sir.
Captain Velanos: Yellow alert. Let's see what they are up to.
The only thing that it really seems to be missing is Earth. I know that is a big one, but we will just have to do without and assume that it is in that cluster of planets near the center of the Federation, pretty close to Vulcan. On top of that, Bajor and Trill are now a part of the Federation, so the border there has been extended to include those worlds. While there are colonies in the Gamma Quadrant, the Federation does not technically have any political authority there, and nor do the Klingons or Romulans due to the treaty that was signed after the Dominion War. Right now it is free space, to be negotiated later.
Edit: Okay, so I was wrong. Earth is labeled SOL and is right in the middle of the freaking map. Yes, I am a huge moron.
Name: Shandi Rae Age: 25 Race: Betazoid Sex: Female Place of Birth: Betazed Current Assignment: Ship's Councilor for the USS Adventurer (per Arizona) Physical Description: As like many Betazoids, she has long brown hair and deep brown eyes and is very pretty. She is average for a humanoid in height and extremely skinny. She prefers to wear the clothes of her people, comfortable and flowing when off duty but as third in command of her ship, she is required to wear the usual Starfleet Uniform, which she quietly says is a little too tight. Personality Description: Shandi speaks her mind. She has spent most of her life on Betazed and has yet to learn that not everyone appreciates brutal honesty. She is much like a child sometimes, innocent and naive in many ways. She still thinks the best of people, even when they are trying to hurt others. Shandi enjoys
Councillor Rae enters the bridge and sits down in her usual seat. She closes her eyes for a moment, centering herself as the racing minds of the crew enter her thoughts. She looks up to the Captain.
Commander Shard: Sir, time until we can astablish communications with the Tzenkethi is 2 minutes and 13 seconds.
Admiral Vincent: Very well, continue on course, increase velocity to Warp 8, Hazard Team 1 report to Main Engineering, set up a defensive perimeter incase the Tzenkethi manage to beam aboard. Team 2, deploy on the Bridge, Team 3 defend deck 10, main sickbays. Tactical report...
Lt Cmdr. Ka' La: (Bolian, Tactical) Sir, Forward Quantum Torpedoes and phasers are ready, aft lunchers are on standby, shield are primary shields and secondary shields are at 100%. Pulse Phasers are ready to deploy on your command.
Lt. Cmdr. Celes: Sir, we have just entered Comm range. Shall I open a channel to the lead Tzenkethi ship?
Admiral Vincent: [stand up from the command seat] Yes, Celes please open a channel.
[the channel sounds]
Admiral Vincent: This is Admiral Vincent of the USS Ghost, you have just violated the Federation Border with out permission. Return to your own space, at once, you have commited an act of war againts the Ferderation, you have 5 minutes to turn your ships around, no further warning will be given. End transmission.
[the channel gets cut]
Commander Shard: Now...we wait.
Lt. Cmdr. Celes: Sir, senors are reading the Tzenkethi ships still on an approach vector, 9 minutes until we intercept. I am also reading Task Force 98 coming into long range sensors.
Commander Shard: Task Force 98? Ka' La, please refresh my memory...
Lt. Cmdr. Ka' La: Sir, Task Force 98 is one of the squadrons assigned to patrol the Federation Borders, they are usually small ships, Saber Class, they stop between ports since they are not equiped for long range missions, each squadron is made up of 4 ships.
[Hazard Team walks in and sets up defensive positions on the bridge]
Admiral Vincent: Very good, by now I am sure they have seen us and the Tzenkethi, if not...send them our coordinates and tell them to join in. Hopefully we can intimidate them with numbers, and not fire a single shot, that is what I am hoping for. Helm take us out of Warp, and take us to 3/4 impulse.
Lt. Anders: Dropping to 3/4 impulse...
[the giant Sovereign drops out of warp, and continues on impulse power]
Lt. Cmdr Celes: Sir, the Tzenkethi ships have arrived 3 attack ships, bearing 0.01 mark 038. Bearing 290, mark 0. And 045, mark 0. They shields and weapons are up and activated. 30 seconds until they are in firing range.
Admiral Vincent: ETA on Task Force 98?
Commander Shard: 19 minutes, 3 Light Years away...
Lt. Cmdr. Ka' La: Sir, they are firing...engagement status?
[the ship gets hit by several photon torpedoes]
Commander Shard: Shields at 96% Return Fire...target the Lead ship, Quantum Torpedoes.
Okay, everyone please stop. I have two more characters now if Archangel decides that he wants in. Drums has submitted his character. The way I would like to do this is that we will all attempt to post once a day... sometimes more if I respond to your storyline. This way I won't fall behind.
Name: Nor Arred Age: 31 Race: Terran (human) Sex: Male Place of Birth: New York, Earth Current Assignment: Captain of the Defiant class ISS Zildjian. Mission: cross into the "prime universe" to acquire technology which would cause the re-rise of the Terran Empire to occur more swiftly Physical Description: A man of average height, Arred stands around 5'9". He has dark red hair and often sports a beard, though on occasion will cut it down to a goatee; he is almost never seen without some form of facial hair. He has blue eyes is generally a very well groomed individual, a habit he developed after escaping enslavement from the mines of Terok Nor. His uniform is identical to that of a prime universe Starfleet Captain, though when not amongst officers from that universe, he carries a phaser on his left leg as well as a knife in his belt, as per his Starfleet's protocol. Personality Description: Arred is a man unusually compassionate for having experienced what he has. He is usually distrustful of non-humans, though the Andorians are generally an exception to this, as they proved very helpful to the Terrans during the war. A survivor of the Terran Uprising against the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance, he knows the realities of war, but also knows that war is the only means through which a society thrives. Generally a good tactician, Arred knew Miles O'Brien prior to his ascension to the seat of leader of the Terran Empire and was highly successful during the final years of the war, which contributed to O'Brien choosing him for this mission. He is intensely loyal and with rare exception earns the loyalty of those below him. As a result, he is generally strict in punishment, but is able to know when punishment is truly deserved; he does not punish simply to make examples. Crew: Commander Haley O'Brien (First Officer, Terran), Commander Amber Amaya (Chief Engineer, Terran), Lieutenant Commander Shrall (Tactical, Andorian), Lieutenant Commander Chris Eichstedt (CMO, Terran), Lieutenant David Low (Helm, Terran), Lieutenant Colonel Telsia Murphy (leader of small MACO attachment, Terran).
~~~~~
Captain Arred entered the bridge of the ISS Zildjian, having just beamed up from Earth's surface. "Mr. Low," he began, "set a course just outside the solar system."
Lieutenant Low pressed a few keys, saying, "Aye sir. Course plotted."
Arred nodded. "Warp five. Engage." He then spoke to everyone, "I'm assuming you've all read the details of our mission. Standard infiltration, shouldn't take more than a day. Commander O'Brien, when I am on the surface, you obviously have command." Haley nodded. "Emperor O'Brien chose this ship specifically for the mission; be proud of that fact."
After a short time, the ship began to slow. "Coming out of warp, sir," Low reported.
"Good," Arred replied. He looked to Commander Amaya. "Commander, bring the multidemensional transport device online. Prepare to phase the ship into the alternate universe."
Amaya nodded. "Aye, sir.... We're ready."
"Make the jump." The ship went dark for a moment and it appeared that the entire ship was being sent through a transporter. Once the effect was over, Arred looked at Amaya. "Report."
"We successfully made the jump, sir."
"Good. Activate the cloak." Amaya pressed a few keys, then a console exploded, throwing her back. O'Brien jumped up to check the console, while Eichstedt rushed to Amaya. "It was the multidimensional transporter control," she said. "It apparently blew right as the cloak was brought on line."
"Status of the cloak," Arred barked.
"It's functioning properly."
"Doctor, report."
"I'm taking her down to sickbay," he replied. She's badly burned, but should be fine.
"Make it quick; she'll know better than anyone else how to find out what happened." Arred leaned back, seething with anger. "We'll hold position until we figure out what happened. Lieutenant Low, Lieutenant Commander Shrall, assist Commander O'Brien in figuring out what has happened." The men nodded and left their posts to assist. Arred wanted to know what had happened, and he wanted to know now.
Name: David Fox Age: 25 Race: Human Sex: Yes please. (Male, as if you couldn't tell) Place of Birth: Mars Current Assignment: None, Freelancer
Physical Description: 5” 8”, sand blond hair, brown eyes, and is average build. He also has a scar running from just below his left ear to his just below his left eye. His left hand is a replacement, for the one he lost in battle. At all times he will have a phaser pistol with him. He will dressed as a civilian with a long brown coat.
Personality Description: Fox is a ex-Starfleet Lt. Commander who has served on a hand full of starships in the time of war. He can be dark and moody at times, but is a skilled warrior in battle. Skills of note: Starship & Fighter pilot.
The vessel's warp signatures approached quickly, picking up speed slightly. It seemed that, for whatever reason, they had decided to get to the smaller vessel's position quicker then originally intended. The T'Kundra quickly raised it shields and iterposed itself between the approaching warp signatures and its escort. One last little bit of effort and the sensors drones drifted away from the annomoly and redirected their sensative equipment towards the incoming vessels, attempting to get whatever information that they could before they came into weapons range of the Adventurer. Rae could sense the heightened awareness of the crew as they got into battle stations, ready to protect themselves and the ship they had been assigned to escort. Captain Diaz was ready as always.
Sensor Information: The ships appear to have the standard Dominion type shape but with a very different warp signature. They are also giving off a very strange energy signature, one that the computer recognizes but has not yet been able to completely decifer. At this point, they are still at least 10 minutes away at the speed they are currently traveling. However, close up views of the four vessels at extreme range seem to indicate that they have been almost cobbled together by someone. Parts look very out of place.
The first volley of quantum torpedos lashes out, slamming against the the forward shields of the lead vessel. Sparks flew across the shield surface of the large Tzenkethi ship causing gaps to appear. That vessel came to a halt as the rest of the ships around it ceased firing. The other three smaller ships pulled up alongside of the lead ship, one relatively above it with the other flanking on Starboard and Port sides.
Sensor Information: The quantum torpedo volley tore holes through the lead ships forward and ventral shields. They were mostly down to 25% with a few gaps in the coverage. The weapons systems of that ship were powered down and the weapons on the other ones appeared to be in standbye.
Comm Channel: There is a message coming over the comm. 1. Taskforce 98 is now five minutes away. 2. The Tzenkethi wish to speak to the person in charge of the Ghost.
Most systems are still operational. The cloak shorted out the Multidimensional Transporter. It had never been tested on a vessel of such a large scale, and the delicate components within it have become fused. It will take both special expertise and special parts in order to be able to repair it. Commander Amaya has third degree burns on her hands and forearms and is currently unconcious. The doctor knows that it is not currently life-threatening, but he is unsure of how much electricity actually passed into her body, and therefore doesn't know how long it is going to take her to recover.
Sensor Information: There appears to be no other vessels within the immediate area, and hence no threat.
Other: 2 casualties in Engineering. The Chief Engineer was hit by a discharge coming out of the warp core when the cloak blew the multidimensional transporter, frying his body and killing him instantly. A crewman was badly injured when the violent explosion knocked him off of the upper level of the engineering room. He has a broken leg and pelvis.
Commanders Shard: Lead vessal has taken several hits, several decks have been hit and are decompressing...shield status: forward and ventral shields are pretty much down to 25% The two other Tzenkethi ships are flanking the Lead. They have stopped the attack, however their weapons are on standby.
Admiral Vincent: hmmm
Lt. Cmdr. Celes: Sir, reading Task Force 98 on close range sensors, ETA, 4 minutes 30 seconds.
Admiral Vincent: Helm, prepare for a ventral run, all ventral phasers on standby.
Lt. Cmdr. Celes: Sir, the Tzenkethi ships want to talk, I have an incoming hail.
Lt. Cmdr. Ka' La: I dont understand, first they enter Federation space, then they fire their weapons at us, and now that we have pretty much crippled one of their ships they want to talk...Orders Sir?
Admiral Vincent: hmm, very interesting...open the channel.
[channel sound pings] Admiral Vincent: This is Admiral Vincent, commanding officer of the USS Ghost, you have violated the Federation border, and have attacked us, we want an...
Lt. Cmdr. Celes: It wasnt me Sir, the Tzenkethi just closed the channel.
Admiral Vincent: Damnit, try to reestablish comms.
[Celes works the LCARS interface] Lt. Cmdr. Celes: No luck Sirs, they are blocking any and all comms to their ships, there is no way we can reestablish a link. The Task Force has just arrived, main fleet bearing 188, mark 045. The are hailing...we are also recieveing a Priority One communications from Starfleet.
Admiral Vincent: Very well, Commander see what the Task Force wants, I am going to talk to the Brass. And keep an eye out with the Tzenkethi.
Commander Shard: Aye Sir, Celes put the Captain of the Beagle on screen...
[Admiral Vincent enters his Ready Room] Admiral Vincent: Computer establish link with Starfleet Command, authorization Vincent-Gamma-90-Sierra-Red.
**LINK CREATED** Admiral Vincent: Admiral Tal' Sa, nice to see you again...what can I do for you?
Admiral Tal' Sa: Admiral, it is good to see you aswell...I need to speak with you, your new orders are to redirect to Starbase 887. Task Force 98, has been assigned to your current mission, and they are taking over patrol duties for the time being.
Admiral Vincent: What about my freighters?
Admiral Tal' Sa: I have sent the Sutterland, and the Tsinga to provide futher escort to Trill. I need you to get here soon, so maximum warp all the way to Starbase 887.
Admiral Vincent: I understand, Ghost out.
[Admiral Vincent walks back onto the bridge] Commander Shard: Sir, the Task Force is here to take our place, the Tzenkethi ships left the system about 6 minutes ago, long range sensors are still tracking them heading back towards Tzenkethi space.
Admiral Vincent: Ok, Lt. Anders, lay in a course for Starbase 887, Maximum Warp...Engage.
Hey, one general question that will influence my next section: I know it says we're going off of shows and movies, but are we taking technologies from games that occured during a show's run as canon? Specifically, I'm asking about certain things that were used in the Elite Force games set during and immediately after Voyager (personal transport buffer for item storage, etc.).
Unfortunetly, I am actually very unfamiliar with most Star Trek games and therefore do not know much about the new technologies.
However, I will include all of the ship weaponry from: Star Trek Armada Star Trek Armada II Most hand weapons and rifles, within reason (like, for instance, I am not going to allow a character to walk around with a rocket launcher), from Star Trek Elite Force games.
PM me with any questions or requests and I will see what I can do.
Arred read over Commander O'Brien's report. he was baffled; it had never been tested on a ship, but nonetheless, he couldn't get this feeling out of his head that it had been sabotaged. It was nothing more than a feeling and perhaps nothing, but it bothered him nonetheless. It appeared that the only system damaged was the multidimensional transporter, so he decided to continue on with the mission.
"Sir," Lieutenant Low began, "We're approaching Earth and setting a geosynchronous orbit above San Francisco."
"Good," Arred replied. "Stay sharp... We're cloaked, which means in addition to being hidden from sensors, we're an invisible target. I don't want and collisions." Low nodded. "Commander O'Brien, I'm going to the surface. You have the bridge."
"Aye, sir." Arred knew well the building which was his target. He would beam to an area where traffic was unlikely, then proceed as planned. He checked unholstered his phaser, checked it, and reholstered it. His knife was hidden but easily accessable, should it be needed. He picked up a PADD and proceeded to the transporter, beaming to the planet.
Once he had rematerialized, he made his way to the turbo-lift. "Third floor," he ordered. Once he had arived, he made his way to room 3007 and rang.
An eerily familiar voice replied, "Enter." The door slid open and he walked through, not seeing the man. The voice continued, "Sorry, you're a few minutes earlier than I had expect. I'm just fini-." He walked through the room and dropped the PADD in his hand. There Captain Arred was in a position that had only happened to a handful of others in history; he was standing in front of himself. The only difference was the phaser in his hand aimed at his "prime" universe counterpart.
"I would say I thought you'd be taller, but we both know that would be a lie."
His doppleganger looked at him quizzically. "Who are...?"
"I'm you." He smiled and fired his phaser, rendering his opponent unconscious. A part of him wanted to kill the man out of sheer principle, but that would make future missions of this sort impossible. He pulled out a hypospray and injected the man, insuring he would not remember the situation. He was about to look for the PADD for which he had come to copy its contents, but he was interrupted by a ring at the door....
Ensign Velanos: Sir, the ships will intercept us in 3 minutes and 15 seconds. They are within visual range.
Captain Diaz: On screen, ensign.
[ships appear on screen]
Cmdr. Jefferson: What in the world are those things?
Ensign Velanos: The sensor readings indicate that the materials used in the ships are of known Dominion use. However, their configuration is unlike any I've encountered.
Captain Diaz: Have you identified the energy signatures you encountered earlier?
Lt. cmdr. T'Suran: Not yet, Captain. The computer has trouble identifying the wave pattern of the signature.
Cmdr. Jefferson: We don't have much time, T'Suran. Those ships will be on us in less than 3 minutes.
Lt. Drox (Bolian, Tactical officer): Should we go to red alert, sir?
Captain Diaz: Negative, Liutenant. I don't want to do anything provocative yet. Counsellor, can you sense their intentions from this distance?
Commander Shard: Helm, take us out of Warp, full impulse, set a course for Starbase 887.
Lt. Anders: Aye Sir, new heading 002 mark 0. Full Impulse.
Lt. Cmdr. Celes: Sir, the Starbase is signaling that we cannot dock, and will either have to send a shuttle or beam aboard. There is too much traffic.
Admiral Vincent: Very well, prepare a Type 11. I will be leaving in 30 minutes...how much traffic?
Lt. Cmdr. Celes: 30 ships Sir, 5 Galaxy Classes, 5 Nebulas, 10 Intrepid Classes, 5 Defiant Classes, and 5 Sabers....all their commanding officers are on the Starbase, Sir.
Commander Shard: Sir, is there anything is should be aware of?
Admiral Vincent: Shard, we both are in the dark, all I know is that Admiral Tal' Sa want to see me, and well see what she wants.
Commanders Shard: Ok, Sir, shuttle bay reports your shuttle is ready for departure...
Admiral Vincent: Understood...Commander you have the bridge.
[the Admiral and one member of the Hazard Team walk into the turbo lift, they head down to deck 10, main shuttle bay. The huge external shuttle bay doors open, and the Type 11 Shuttle craft flies out. A few minutes later they enter the cavernous shuttle bay of the spacestation, and Admiral Vincent is greeted by Admiral Tal' Sa, Starfleet Intelligence.]
Admiral Tal' sa (two star Admiral, Vulcan female): So Admiral, by now you must be wondering why I have brought you here.
Admiral Vincent: Yes the thought had crossed my mind, since SI wants to speak to me directly it must be very important. And seeing these 50 ships, there must be an interesting situation happening that Starfleet needs to keep in tact.
Admiral Tal' Sa: How did you know I was SI...?
Admiral Vincent: It’s my job to know, how do you think I made Admiral?
Admiral Tal' Sa: Ok, to keep things simple and fast, you are being recruited for and by Starfleet Intelligence...Starfleet also deemed it necessary to promote you to Two Star Admiral. Now, since you are obviously at the proper rank and branch I can tell you what is going on...however, you still have time to think this over.
Admiral Vincent: Nope, I am interested and onboard with Starfleet Intelligence.
Admiral Tal' Sa: Very good, congratulation Admiral and welcome to SI. The situation we have is not good for the Federation and its allies. 48 hours ago, a radical faction on the Tzenkethi homeworld exterminated the Tzenkethi leadership and government, within a few hours, a new dictatorship and law was created. All Tzenkethi ships have been withdrawn, because they know the Federation will not violate their borders. They are currently upgrading all their weapons with Dominion technology that they found during the Dominion Wars, 5 years ago. Knowing the Tzenkethi, they have probably developed it even further, this was however proven, 24 hours ago when the Tzenkethi destroyed 13 Federation Freighters from behind their borders. According to intelligence, they have developed and improved the Phased Polaron Beam used on the Dominion attack ships, a very powerful weapon as you might remember. The weapons completely destroyed the freighters; they have also destroyed an entire moon. Your mission, infiltrate Tzenkethi space, destroy the research facility, capture or if necessary destroy the prototype ship...we have lost contact with an undercover member of SI. It is believed she is still on the Tzenkethi homeworld. Her status is unknown at this moment.
Admiral Vincent: I will get her out, if she is still alive...Betazoid?
Admiral Tal' Sa: That’s right...how did you know?
Admiral Vincent: Betazoids make good intellegence officers, since they know if the enemy suspects them...I understand my mission, and will formulate an attack plan. Have the other captains been briefed?
Admiral Tal' Sa: Yes they have, however, they do not konw about the SI officer...and they do not know that you are SI as well.
Admiral Vincent: What about my crew...can inform them?
Admiral Tal' Sa: Only on a need to know basis.
[Tal' Sa hands Vincent a PADD, containing the mission briefing and details on the missing SI officer, Admiral Vincent walks into a conference room, filled with the other Captains, who have been informed of the situation. He shares that he will be leading this endeavor, and expects full cooperation from anyone. His ship will be on point. An hour later, he returns to the ship]
Commander Shard: Nice new pip...
Admiral Vincent: Helm, lay in a course for the Tzenkethi border, maximum warp. Ops, signal the fleet to get into formation and to head to the border...thanks Commander.
Lt. Cmdr. Celes: Sir, the fleet is ready...
Lt. Anders: Course laid in Sirs.
Commander Shard: Engage...
[all 50 ships enter formation and speed of the border] Admiral Vincent: Shard, I need to speak to you in my ready room...its is important.
Commander Shard: Understood, Ka' La, you have the bridge...
[the two head of into the briefing room]
Admiral Vincent: Shard, we have been working together for about 6 years now, and I trust you 100%, over the last years I have told you everything command wise...however, Starfleet has now told me not to inform you. I am going to break that order and share it with you anyway, since I strongly believe you need to know and understand this information. If you object, I will make a note in the log.
Commander Shard: I do not object, and I will keep the following information to myself the best way I possible can.
Admiral Vincent: You see this new pip? This basically makes me part of Starfleet Intelligence...I have just been promoted and recruited by them. I want you to read this, it is our mission briefing...however, the part that makes it special is obviously not included. We are also looking for an MIA SI officer, Betazoid, female...late 20's. She was stationed on the Tzenkethi homeworld for the last 9.5 months, after the Tzenekethi destroyed that moon, with new weaponry she went missing...
Name: Lt. Col. Guy Fleegman Age: 28 Race: Human Sex: Male Place of Birth: Los Angles, California Current Assignment: Command of Hazard Team 1 aboard the USS Ghost
Physical Description: 6'2, 220, slightly muscular, dark hair, and Austrian heritage. Guy has a tattoo on his left arm as a remembrance to comrades lost at the battle of Torros III. Guy was rescued by one of the 23 remaining ships of the Seventh Fleet. After a year of rehab, Guy was reassigned to the USS. Ghost.
Personality Description: Still scared from his experiences at Torros III, Guy often remains to himself trying not interested in friendships with his team. This has at times stressed the chain of command within his team, but Guy is a skilled tactical leader and a record of successes can make up for shortfalls in team unity outside of the battlefield. Guy fights with more fervor and hatred than most have seen from a federation officer, taking unnecessary risk that often pay off in his drive to kill all Jem'Hadar.
(Okay, I will deal with the pair of you right now since you guys are the farthest in. Drums will be next, followed by Auri and Thepio once she posts her response. Once that is done, I will get Archangel in on the action as well with his character. A new player will join us rather soon, as soon as he gets online to post what is going on. The character is approved, however, and the player is Dashiva.)
The ships quickly got into formation around the Ghost and headed off towards the Tzenkethi homeworld. The core of the battle group were the five galaxy class vessels along with the Ghost anchoring the center of the formation. The Intrepids were just outside of that, with the Defiants taking the outside flank and one taking lead. Finally, the remaining five Sabres took the relative up and down positions within the cloud of starships, allowing the more combat capable vessels to protect them and their large amount of troops and marines. The small fleet of Federation quickly built up speed and jumped to warp, quickly crossing over the Tzenkethi border.
Sensor Readings: Most of the space seems relatively devoid of activity. No ships have yet approached the task force, but the sensors have picked up a few tachyon surges that vanished just as quickly as they had appeared. Long range Sensors ARE detecting a rather large fleet of ships around the Tzenkethi homeworld's coordinates. Lastly, what had most recently been reported as a dead system is showing a rather large and new construction facility. It also appears to be very heavily guarded, if not more so then the Homeworld. A few small squadrons, four ships each, have been detected as holding position near the Federation border. One of these appears to be headed towards the areas that the task force entered Tzenkethi space, attempting to block the easiest and quickest exit.
Condition alert and status for the fleet is YELLOW.
Weapon and Shield Status: Armed and on standby. Shields are up and active.
Comm System: All of the vessels are reporting in regularly with no problems or conditions that would cause them to have to stop to make repairs. No calls from the Tzenkethi wondering about the Task Force's intentions in their space.
