Personally, i think that GRAW was WAY under-rated for the original xbox. The graphics were INCREDIBLE, multiplayer was decent and gameplay was fun, challenging and absorbing. Yet game magazines stil gave it terrible ratings like 6.5 or 75%.
OF COURSE it had to be toned down from the XBOX 360, because the XBOX is already pretty damn old. Graphics can be toned down, and the cross-com has changed from 30 to 10 fps. That's fine!!! What's wrong with that?? Here is an xbox - xbox 360 comparison chart -
Feature | Original XBOX | XBOX 360 Developer | Ubisoft Shanghai | Ubisoft Paris Graphics Engine | Modified Unreal | Tiwak Perspective | Weapon-View First-Person | Over the Shoulder Third Person, or first-person Single-Player Missions | 12 (unique level-design) | 12 Multiplayer Levels | 12 | 10 Ghosts | 1 | 3 Sprint Button | Yes | No Stances | Standing, Crouching | Standing, Crouching, Prone
Yes the Xbox 360 may be better than the Xbox, but there are reasons, and Ubisoft Shanghai tried to balance it with being able to sprint, 2 more multiplayer levels, a more unique single player and you have a little easier control over 1 ghost. Yes i like the 360 version a little better, but the xbox version was WAY underrated. Dont you think ?
i dont think they should have lowered some of the 360 standards for reg. xbox, thats stupid, we pay good money for these things, i want a damn good product, i could have used a sprint button (trust me, i could have) and i would have liked to see my gun in first person. idk why they cut your prone position though, thats pretty retarded
nahh the Xbox 360 version was rated well. The Graphics were awesome, gameplay was "compelling", control was great, sound was the best *(awesome soundtrack and surround sound). THe only thing im confused about is - Why did they decide to rate the xbox version so low? The original version had its good points as well!
360 version rules! And of course the Xbox version is going to be rated poorly, it's old generation. It's like trying to rate the original Sonic game if it came out now. Sure it was great back when those where the standards, but if someone released it now... Xbox 360 has set a new standard, so of course all games on lower generation consoles are going to be rated lower!
And the third-person view is what made G.R.A.W for me. That's why I don't like multiplayer on it so much. And about the multliplayer levels, this is always subject to change because of Xbox LIVE
Well, the Xbox360 did set a higher standered, but thats no reason for the Game magazines to dis it, i think GRAW for both systems are fun, but if you want to play G.R.A.W. in better graghics, then the 360 is your best bet.
Yes, that does still not mean it isn't a good game, I was just saying that compared to the capabilities if the Xbox 360, previous console games are a bit weak. So it might be a good game for the Xbox, but as a console game overall when compared to other consoles such as the Xbox 360, it is very weak.
wait this is directed at someone else who has the game
i just completed the mission where its all dark and you are alone for the first time (sorry for being vague) and am loving the game so far
then i got the next mission and now all the cool coloured rectangles which cover enemies and allies have disapeared what the hell? please tell me its jsut for this mission cos thats what made the game great as you never get confused about where people are!
thats the one where there is a jammer that makes connections from your HUD to command base bad, so your objective is to destroy it. After you've done that, the "rectangles" will come back. Your HUD also gets a bit fuzzy
