I completly forgot about this movie until a friend posted a trailer in his journal about it a week or so ago. I am a ZB fan and loved his work in Garden State and I watch Scrubs whenever possible.I for one cannot wait to see this movie anyone else?
I ran into the trailer when I was looking for Zach Braff videos on Youtube. It seems like a good movie. First of all, Zach Braff is an excellent comedian. Second, I like Rachel Bilson and Casey Affleck (million times better than his brother). Did you know that this is a new version of an Italian film called L'ultimo bacio? I think Zach talked about it in one of his video posts.
I can't wait for this movie to come out. I am a big fan of Zach Braff in general, and Garden State is one of my favorite movies! In one of his blogs, he said something about the soundtrack for The Last Kiss will be like a part two of the Garden State soundtrack. I am really looking forward to that.
lol I know I love Nat and Garden State but I could like The Last Kiss more. but hey thats just me. But no movie will ever top V for Vendetta at least in my book.
I remember reading in your journal it's not written by him still it seems to have that feel to it that Garden State did and yes it doesnt have Nat in it. But yea I still cant wait to see it.
I saw this opening day. It left me with a strange feeling. ZB's character had no redeeming characteristics. He was a bastard. It was a worst case scenario in every single relationship.
I love Casey Affleck... he's matured so much as an actor, and he was the best part of the movie.

Thoughts?
People that see this movie thinking it's Garden State 2 are in for a surprise.
The marketing was perfect. Make it seem like a drama about adults in their late 20s, don't show them anything that might make them not see it. Same with Jesus' Son. People don't respond well to smart movies being marketed as smart movies. Because then people don't see them.
Now I liked Garden State, and I loved the first seasons of Scrubs (the last one...idk My Name is Earl seems to have taken over, but I will watch this final upcoming season). But Garden State would have been BEYOND depressing and slow if it wasn't for the bright light of Natalie Portman. Her character and her acting saved that movie from being a HUGE downer and unrewatchable much like Requiem for a Dream (too depressing to rewatch, a must watch if you haven't seen it, but damn will you never be able to watch it again).
I hope this is much lighter. Not Scrubs light, but lighter none the less. Otherwise, I recommend Natalie appears in everyone of his movies.
I knew it wasn't Garden State 2. I hated the ending of Garden State. I'll only watch it to the airport scene- then I have to turn it off. I like ZB, but it's not unconditional.
I did a little homework before Last Kiss. I knew what I was in for- the ending just really pissed me off. I guess for personal reasons. It was a very onesided view, and I'm on the female team. LK was from the male perspective. I appreciated the different take, but I don't have to like it.
It seemed like most of the cast was underused. No one was likeable.
What struck me was where Michael(Braff) said he would marry Jenna if she could name three couples that were married longer than five years. The fact that she couldn't really made a point.
Yea I wasn't expecting it to be a Garden State 2 but I expected it to have the same feel to it. But seeing that is doesn't as I'm hearing, I still want to see it just as much.
