This is not any sort of advertisement, or gimmick, it's a public service announcement.
Sierra announced FREE download and play of a full featured copy of F.E.A.R. Combat, (multiplayer only) last week. I downloaded it and tried it out, and it runs just like my friend's retail copy of F.E.A.R., except it didn't cost $50. I posted this in my journal, but I figured everyone should hear about this.
If you want to start playing F.E.A.R. for free (if your computer can handle it), just follow these three steps: 1. Go to joinfear.com/main?act=register1 , make up an address, and get a cd-key emailed to you. 2. Download the 1.7gb installer from joinfear.com/main?act=download . 3. Install with the cd-key from step 1 and start playing!
You don't need to give any real personal info except for an email address, because they email you the cd-key. They have options to download from fileplanet, from torrent, and various other sources, all very reliable. Seriously, guys, give this a shot!
You could have kept this in the F.E.A.R. thread in which it was mentioned about a week ago or more. This doens't need it's own thread however good it is.
I disagree. You can't really expect anyone without the game FEAR to visit the FEAR thread. This way, everyone gets a chance to try and comment on FEAR Combat.
It's not a diffrent game though. I'm just saying. It might stay and it might not. I just think that instead of having a new thread for something exactlly like F.E.A.R. then have it in the same thread. It's nto different in any other way. It's only free and a huge download.
And I visit game threads I don't know or own to see what it's like. That way I can see people's opinions and see if it's a good game or not.
Heh, it's only the multiplayer version. There's none of the spookiness that comes from the singleplayer campaign. It's basically just like playing Halo: CE, except with different maps and weapons.
