A buddy of mine is going to be purchasing a large format printer and selling his services.

Prints will be $3.00/sq foot. There will be a $1.00 charge for shipping tube and shipping will be actual cost.
For picture quality it is $4.00/sq foot.
(compare this to Kinko's $7.00 / sq foot)

Here are some sample sizes and costs:
11" x 17" = $3.90
18" x 18" = $6.75
24" x 24" = $12.00
24" x 36" = $18.00

He can receive nearly any image type and on nearly any media.

His original idea was to print large maps for D&D campaigns,
but when he purchases the equipment the sky is the limit.
Instead of using Wal-Mart ( who can only do standard sized picture prints )
or Kinkos ( who are going to cut off your arm for a large picture )
you can get the 8.5 x 11, or larger, print you want on the cheap!

If you're interested post here and we can talk about time frame for your job.
The more interested customers, the more motivated he will be to
purchase the printer and start saving everyone some money!

No. Just paper or photopaper that I know of.

I would say that would depend upon the quality of the original.
