i recently bought a Samsung HD widescreen TV. the s-video makes my pc monitor (currently my Television) blurry and cant get the right resoolution that i need. what is a good video card that i could use OR will it make any difference if i used a vga to dvi converter and then use the dvi to hdmi cord to use on my TV. i do know that computer monitors are in a higher rez than tv's thus the instant HD on computers. but expanding it to a TY is different. i would greatly aqppreciate the advice.

a VGA to DVI converter and then a DVI to HDMI converter is a BAD idea, and likely not to work. If your video card does not currently have a DVI connector on it (anything newer than 4 years old should) then I would suggest upgrading it. Anything with a DVI connector will work, but I suggest you find one that is capable of outputting 1920x1080 resolution. Also, if you intend to be playing games, expect to have to turn down the graphics options on those games, or spend BIG bucks on a top of the line card, and more RAM. Depending on the size of that TV and it's native resolution you could KILL a video card by trying to run say even Doom 3 at higher graphics settings unless you have a top of the line machine, which since you don't have a DVI port, I am guessing you don't.

Why not just get an HDMI cord, it looks like your card will run HDMI straight from the card to the TV. No reason in doing it any other way. That card was meant to be hooked up to a Hi-Def TV. Just go out and buy an HDMI device cable, given they are still rather expensive, thats probably why you want the conversion.

Truth be told, your best picture will come from the HDMI cable, since there is an HDMI Out on that card.
