Anybody catch this last night on Spike? It's a manga adapted into a short series. Samuel L. Jackson does the voice of Afro, a man who watched his father be killed as a child by Justice(voiced by Ron Perlman). The story goes that there are two headbands in the world, representing Number One, and Number Two. If you're number One, you are a god, and noone can touch you......except Number Two. Afro's father was Number One, but Justice killed him and took the title for himself. Afro took the Number Two headband as he began his quest for revenge. But while Number Two is the only one who can go after Number One, anybody can go after Number Two. So the show focuses on Afro's quest to find the man who killed his father, while battling all those who want to try and become a god themselves. The premiere episode was really well done.
Was there an episode on last night? I might have set the TiVo to record it, but I totally don't remember. I will have to check that as soon as I am done with my graphic design project.
Yup, it was there. I totally forgot that I set it to record last week. I did the same thing for next week, but I set a reminder.
As for this weeks show... I liked how it went into the background of his life. I enjoyed seeing his training and fighting as a kid. I hope to see more of this in next weeks episode so we can learn how he got the Number Two Headband back.
Can't wait.
Someone said that this was first a comic book, anyone know where I could find them?
