So, coming this 31May, Japan will be graced with a revamped Wii-ified RE4 that completely uses the Wii-Mote for control and aiming. Also, all of the bonus features that wormed their way into the PS2 rendition that the GC didn't include will be there.
New controls will include having the player hold the B trigger, then shaking the Wii-Mote to reload. And, Leon can perform quicker knife attacks with a simple shake, and aiming is done by the game. Plus, all of those kick-ass button prompt cut-scenes will involve some shaking.
Well, it's a great excuse to get another. Actually, you don't really need an excuse. But for the record, U.S. will see its share of the RE4 love soon after Japan, and as always, we don't know exactly when.
anyone hear about Umbrella Chronicles? it's supposed to take place after RE4 with an arcade mode that takes place from RE0 to RE4 but here's the catch: it's a freakin' first person shooter...you know like that other RE first person....the one that sucked...I pray that they don't screw both these games up...i need my RE fix on my Wii...

Yes, that's another goodie. There will be a special sneak preview of Umbrella Chronicles included with the Wii-ified RE4. It will feature every RE character to date.
And yeah, I don't like the sound of it being an FPS either.
I'm not the most ecstatic about embracing this new style, but I'm not close-minded on it. I mean, it could work out okay... But I just can't get enough of the control scheme in RE4. It's just too much fun
Resident Evil 4.... Wii... $30... I already got mine reserved. The best game of the last generation will soon become the best game of this generation. Can't freakin' wait, Wii needs a Demo channel with this on it NOW!
Wow. Just. O_O. Wow. I never read the details about this game, but I heard of it. Now I'm even more excited for this than ever. I only played a little of RE:4 but it's such a great game for the little time I played it. It's such a scary, jumpy game too. I LOVE IT. Can't wait. So wait, it's coming out May 31 in the US...right?
I dunno about the controls. I'd have to try it before making a judgement. I wish they made a new game from the ground-up for Wii controls rather than remaking a game I could simply buy cheaper for PS2 or Gamecube.
Well people for Zelda didn't want to use those controls or thought it would be hard but it ends up being easy...might I say it's almost easier than a regular controller?
Aww mean I really didn't realize this was for a remake. Well I never bought the origanal game so I might as well get it. =]
It seems to me that there would be more profit in just putting time into developing a Resident Evil 5 for the Wii. I don't really understand the logic behind bringing old games onto old consoles with slightly different graphics and controls. I'd much rather have a Resident Evil 5 come out sooner for the Wii, then have a Resident Evil 4 remake. But hey, thats just me. I don't like lingering in the past when it comes to video games =P
(Or here is an idea. Sell sequals with remakes of the games that came before it in the series! So you could package Resident Evil 5 with a free copy of Resident Evil 4, that way you get the best of both worlds. Of course there are probably cons to this idea, such as cost and time consumed to put things like this together. But overall, I think it would create a much happier fan-base!)
They'd have to charge a higher price for something like that, with a bonus game and all. They wouldn't waste the labor/productivity time for something like that to be free. It would go from $49.99 to $64.99
True enough, but I think if there was enough fan support behind it, it'd be highly successful. Anyway, that is just one of those things that I wish would happen. Gaming companies need to have more guts when it comes to the way they handle marketing. I'd pay the extra cash for the bonus game, and I know many others who would do the same. It's all about how venturous the company wants to be when dealing with a matter such as this.
Only rumors right now. I agree with launch_exe. It would be far better for them to make a new RE, rather than a port of a game many have played before.
