Calling all Europeans, Britians, Australians and New Zealanders!

If you think there should b PAL DVDs of seasons 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Red vs Blue and Strangerhood available from the Rooster Teeth store (and would buy them if they existed) put your name down here. Once I have enough people (like, a few hundred) I'm going to send a link to the management (i.e. Burnie, Geoff, Gus & Matt).

PAL DVDs are DVDs that can be played in the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia and Newzealand, as opposed to the American NTSC DVDs.

Join the petition! Help us get more RvB DVDs!

It's a fine sentiment, but I am from the UK and can play the NTSC DVDs just fine on my dvd player/tv and computer. I don't really see the need for it to be added as a product. Unless you have really old equipment, it should be able to handle the Region Free NTSC dvds.

Yeah Red Vs Blue DVD's are region free, I have all four season, and they play fine on everything expect for a few PS2's that aren't completely DVD Compatible, but then it still plays, only in black and white instead.

Okay, I get the message, I shouldn't have posted the thread. I don't know how to delete it though.
However: I just want to say that I've generally found NTSC DVDs don't work with my stuff, and I noticed there are lots of European, Brit and Australasian members on the site so I created this thread for them. Best intentions really.

Has this thread been locked yet?... Oh, no it hasn't.
Okay then, anyone who wants those PAL DVDs can still post here then. I'll just subtract the number of posts before this one from the tally.

Put me down.

I've already got them, but it would have been nice not to have to bugger around on the pc to get it to work right. (b&w video is a bit boring)

You guys must be playing the DVDs in a player from the 30s or something, because mine work absolutely fine. What's the fuss about having PAL DVDs? The NTSC ones work fine.

the only time when I have been pissed off with them not being region 2 is when i tried to back them up on my pc and I had to waste one of my hardware region changer credits, whats the point of them?

Its fine otherwise, I might pick up season 1 because of the subtitles but thats about it, its the picture size (that i will notice) changed t because it says made for wide screen?

Um. You shouldn't have had to use a region change, because they are region free. Your software screwed you over.

The episodes are still the same resolution, but they bottom and top of the black bars have been cropped so you have a widescreen picture.

It'll still have black bars, though.

Also, PAL DVD's play at 25fps vs the NTSC 23.97 so the video plays faster and the audio has a slightly higher pitch.

Unfortunately, I watch so much NTSC video I can easily notice those two differences and it annoys the hell outta me.

RT hasn't ever made PAL dvds. They're just region free so that regional restrictions don't apply to them.

You can still watch an NTSC dvd in the UK / Australasia/etc., provided that your equipment can handle it (unless you have a very old TV, you should be fine). Very few people can notice the difference between the two formats.

My mistake. I didn't realise they had done that. I have all NTSC versions, and didn't look at it since I got mine at the end of the first season.

I'm guessing if they did season 1 it didn't have enough interest to support doing the same for other seasons.

Actually I didn't realise they had the subtitles on them, It's a nice feature since I sometimes like to watch RVB late at night with sound turned down. Plus I could have it played in my local night club with subtitles to get more attention for RVB (though that pointless since the series is coming to a close).

I won't buy Season 1 PAL ATM though cause I already have it in NTSC, if it came out for every season though I might buy them and then give my NTSC copies to my step brother, or a friend that likes RVB.
