I'm making a video for school about the history of video games (I chose the topic myself). It's gotta be about 3 to 4 minutes long. I've got some ideas already, but I think I need some outside opinions.
1. What do you guys think should be some of the highlights in the video? Examples: Important events in gaming history, significant games, etc.
2. I NEED a straight-up captured video of Atari's Pong. Does anyone have that and can they get it to me? Mods to the first person to get me that if I don't find it before then.
I plan on going through the arcade boom of the 80s, up to today, and what is in the future for gaming. I'm gonna end the video with a clip of Halo 3, with one guy sniping another out of the man cannon.
So please, any help or ideas would be appreciated here. And any great ideas will be given mod points. Thanks in advance to everyone who can help.
Well I have to say that I'm surprised that your class let you make a homework project on games. i have two views of that the first is that it is cool that the last generation is starting to take games more seriously, and at the same time it seems weird in the same way that people are thinking of makeing gameing an Olympic sport. But back to ideas, sorry to get so preachy on you, I think that somewere in the project you should give examples of how games have afected entertainment in general. For instance take Red vs. Blue it has a cult following on a George Romero level and in some cases the people who watch it don't even play Halo. And you could also do something on the art of the certain games.
OK i don't know if you think that games should not get as much attention as thier geting, but video games are a real part of the culture and mybe the next step is to give it as much chance as music and film in school.
