For anyone who hasn't seen the movie, I'd suggest going out and renting it before reading this forum because I can assume spoilers will be frequent in comments.
I actually loved this movie, but my boyfriend hated it. I think this was because he saw it as a literal "how could the producers show Hayley and what she does in a positive light?" while I saw it as a film that brings up big questions as far as assumptions and trust and vengeance. I didn't think the film's point was to praise torture but to show that, among other things, the stereotype of the caring and even vulnerable young girl is not always true to life.
What do you guys think of the movie. I'm particularly interested in what guys thought of it.
It's actually on my list of movies to get. I like the tables being turned. I like the idea of her torturing him, but doesn't it bring up a lot of closer to home issue. How many times, on here, have you seen an older, probably married guy, drooling and making lewd comments on the little girlies pages? And why do they feel it's necessary to come online to get approval from strangers?
