depends on the bread, if it's rye, toasting it makes it smell fricking horrible and taste even worse. Most bread though I like both ways, if it's toasted it's lightly toasted so that it's still soft and delicious on the inside.
My boyfriend actually broils his toast (he butters one side and broils it). It comes out nice and toasty brown on one side and raw on the other. It was a little odd the first time I tried it. Personally I'm a fan of toast. I also mix cinnamon and sugar together and after I butter my toast put a little of the cinnamon sugar mix on it. It's so yummy!
