I hope at least SOME people have the chance to voice an oppinion about the New Karma and Mod-Point System, before a Moderator, staff member or whomever else has the authority to do so, as anyone who seems to stand up and openly criticise it is either ignored or forcibly silenced...
I'm going to try and Oppose it fairly rather than have the immature approach of just saying "it's crap".
I don't like it, simple as that.... People who I have talked to friends and not friends alike have all shared the same oppinion, so far I've only seem maybe a tiny handful of members, less than 5 who approved of it (apart from all the staff, moderators and whomever was primarily responsible for the change....Ben.
With the Brand new Site under development (at it's Beta stage) so far as I know, why the need to implement foreign, new features and systems to this site (changing everything that's familiar and comfortable???)
We had absolutly NO POSTS warning us, informing us or asking us to voice oppinions for new site features (and as a sponser I feel slightly cheated by that.)
I respect this site is OWNED by the staff, and they and site developers have authority and control over it and what happens, obviously... but the community makes this site what it is, and they and especially sponsers who have paid money from their own pocket should have their oppinons count and when a LARGE Percentage disagree with a new feature, they should AT LEAST be listend to, not immediatly dismissed, ignored or neg modded (not that, that matters anymore!)
So please, (an authority figure), at least read this post and consider my points before Locking it or inflicting any sort of punishment to me, I've been a member/sponser of this site for over 3 years, that deserves some sort of respect?
A wee bit is yes i like it, but then it turns to the point of say competions, there gone now since there isnt mods... Since there is polls on the site, i think we should atlease vote to see if it happens there way or are way.
I agree 100%. I loved the old system. The mod points gave me something to show for my participation in the community. With the new karma system, I don't feel that it will reflect the type of member someone is. Just because someone can spam doesn't mean the deserve more karma. With mod points you can feel exactly how much people cared (or disliked) your image or post. I would +20 ditto this, but my 44 mod points are gone. +1 ditto shows nothing to the extent of how I feel regarding this. Honestly, mod points and karma were the only reason I came back to this site day to day after I signed up. It was like a game. Try to post something witty or funny and see if someone would mod it. Get more mods and raise your karma level. I had so much fun participating in the community as my karma level slightly rose. But now. Anyone who spams can receive the same reward that I worked so hard for.
Also, as a sponsor I would have really liked to have some input into major changes. If you are going to change a huge part of a community site you should ask the community if they think it will work, and their opinions. Or, give it a test run to see what people think before making it permanent. I really feel cheated. I can see myself visiting this site less and less now that I have no reason to come here anymore. All the good friends I've met on here I can talk to on xbox live or just call on the phone. There is no more game to play on the site for me, nothing left that is rewarding.
QUITE BITCHING ABOUT THE NEW KARMA SYSTEM! They scrapped it because people got way to into it. IT'S FOR THE BETTER! If I had mod powers I would lock this thread and ban you.
It's amazing that, as a 3 year member of the site, you still, STILL don't realize that it's spelled sponsor. SponsOr. SPONSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR.
As for the new system, you have said that you don't like it, but not WHY you don't like it. All you said was "It's crap" with a lot of fluffy bullshit inbetween the two words. You need to say why for your statements to even be considered.
EDIT: Also, the beta has been canceled, hence the Dev Days to release new features; the staff decided that there was no need to reinvent the wheel, the current forum software, with Dev Day changes tweaking it, was more than good enough.
This thread's topic has been changed too T-Shirts. Hot topic shirts seem to be misunderstood as Emo but they do make T-shirts of some really great bands. A & F are highly overrated and over priced though.
I dislike the new system. before if i made a comment or piece of artwork i'd feel honered if somone gave up there mods points because they liked it. now it doesn't mean anything. ppl can neg mod all they like now maybe not all on one person but i've never seen so many neg mods. ppl are neg modding just because they disagree not because it's spam or offensive. Considering ppl pay sponsership money it would of been nice to be consulted a bit more about this. ppl can write loads of shit and get a higher karma level. it's not even KARMA anymore I could be a complete bitch to anyone and it won't effect me. The new system has pissed all over many forums, forum games and compititions.

opinion: I like the way that mods are no longer related to karma, but intensely dislike how this change seems to nullify the very purpose of mods. People were sparing with mods when they were worth more, so it used to have more meaning if you got modded by someone. Like they deemed your post worthy of it. technically speaking, every comment ever posted can be deemed funny, cool, zing, ditto, lame, noob or flamebait, and now it's not a matter of deciding if the post means enough to you to mod it, but just which particular emotion you happen to feel.

What's not to like? It's permantly stopped mod cheating. It's a better way to share opinions and is actually a reflection on opinions. And I don't care if noobs are insulting me. It doesn't really make a difference.
What gave anyone the indication we don't want feedback? We asked for feedback in the announcement of the new feature. We appreciate the honest opinions, especially when they are stated clearly. Sometimes, it's hard to cut through all the emotional responses.
I find it odd how I wrote my news post with the clearest of intentions that we wanted to hear from users about what they thought and how we could improve it, and yet everybody's acting like we don't want to hear from them at all.
The new mod system is fantastic. It's a better way of sharing opinions then the last. The original would that someone could neg someone -10 but no one know how many people agree with that. In this new version however, we see __ amount of people think this is (a) _____.
