I just got this Hanns-G 19" LCD monitor and a Male HDMI to Male DVI converter cord. I wanted to try to hook the PS3 up to the monitor to play on it. So I did, but when I turned on the PS3, nothing came up, so I remembered to hold down the button for 5 seconds while turning it on to auto-mate the video setting. Nothing. So I hooked it up to my tv with A/V cables while still having it hooked up to my monitor with HDMI/DVI connector. Followed the on-screen prompts to set up the HDMI output and still nothing.
I took the HDMI end and stuck it in my Xbox 360 Elite's HDMI port, and started it up, and the 360 shows up fine on the monitor! So I quickly re-hooked it to the PS3 and nothing happened. When the PS3 is on, the monitor does seem to be receiving some sort of signal because it displays black, instead of the "no signal" message. It just won't display anything PS3 related.
Also, no discs in the PS3, had COD4 in the 360, but the dashboard shows up fine anyway. On either one though, there's no sound coming from the built-in speakers, any way to fix that too?
The volume is at max. I tried changing it to 50(half) and all the way back up to 100(max)
Edit: I also tried taking the 3.5mm stereo plug that came with it, and plugging it from the monitor to a gaming chair I have with the same size input plug. No sound then either.
