At present, AgentIndy and DustBunny01 are aboard the Lost Colony discopete and his crew of RP and NPC are at a crash site somewhere on the planet's surface. The events are being played out in Camp Froman.
What this means is that a portion of AOB has been sucked into Camp Froman for some specific postings and will be returned, at which point the crash site will be discovered by a photo recon mission conducted by Longswords launched from the Lost Colony.
Private JHM has been returned to the 12th. He is presently wearing S.M.B. Armor so hit the link to find out the specifics. Regarding the command codes, these have been downloaded into the Com Link assigned to the 12th. The short cut key is a death's head logo with S.M.B. on it. Again, read the journal entry regarding this set of armor for what the program will allow you to do. I will be sending down a pod in the future with food canisters for Private JHM but, a careful look at the pod would probably reveal a few canisters already there - the finder gets to determine what "flavor" is there {Think Baby Food}.
Special Request: I NEED A STATUS REPORT. I need to know that you are low on nanite pens and that the Mutant Bears have taken losses in personnel as well as equipment.)
(Answer: Back Story ONI, Section Zero controls the planet.
When the 12th came into existence, there was a W04 Counselor assigned to the unit. He functioned as a combination supply officer, morale officer, medical officer, mail officer and occasionally as a sort of unofficial second in command. Now, how many Armored Calvary Units have a "Counselor" assigned to them. Seems rather odd now, doesn't it?
The Q.M.S.S. has FIVE fleets stationed at this planet and they only depart when something more important develops. Seems rather odd now that a Quarter Master Service (basically supply) has at least FIVE heavily armed fleets at its disposal with enough fire power to lay waste to practically anything.
Perhaps the rumor that the Q.M.S.S. is a wholly owned subsidiary of ONI, Section Zero has some truth to it?
Now, why would ONI, Section Zero have an interest in this planet? Perhaps the discovery of a Forerunner Dreadnought buried in the vicinity of Alpha Outpost has something to do with it?
Of course, this could all be Art Bell/Coast to Coast - - - black helicopter/conspiracy nonsense or Chuba-thingies that eat goats...
(I meant why does this particular thread control most of the planet. I guess it makes sense that ONI controlling it means that the military controls it. But that conflicts with other things presented in the past. You've stated that cities inhabited by civilians may be brought into play, and they actually have been brought into play. That denotes that there is a separation between military and civilian on the planet. Different zones, if you will. That makes it akin to Reach where the military technically controlled it, but only used small portions to operate their bases. I tend to view Alpha in that frame of mind, which would only lead to the conclusion that this base (and therefore the thread) operates under the ruling that, with exceptions, this thread actually only controls the true military soil, aka the bases' perimeters. The exceptions would be of course when plot intrudes, such as the ongoing convoy around the planet. (Speaking of which, they'll probably need to refuel soon). However, when certain other areas are established as their own autonomous region they would get control as the plot progresses to that area, as would only be right. By areas I of course refer to threads, groups, and the like in which specific creations are already established for events happening there.)
(Before this can be misinterpreted, I'm just looking for answers here. This is nothing but a friendly debate. I do not wish to foster any more negative feelings than those that already exist. There are too many as is.)
You've stated that cities inhabited by civilians may be brought into play, and they actually have been brought into play.
At present, cities have been not been brought into play in any meaningful way. Even at the very beginning, there was a reference to a near by town/city as one player went to a convenience store {or something along those lines} So, the operative word there is "may" unless some RPer decides he just has to have a city/town or suburb and is willing to go to the trouble to actually create something and KEEP IT RUNNING. That to me is the key. You can drop all manner of things into an RP but to keep them running - that is where the warthog tire meets the dirt.
I tend to view Alpha in that frame of mind, which would only lead to the conclusion that this base (and therefore the thread) operates under the ruling that, with exceptions, this thread actually only controls the true military soil, aka the bases' perimeters.
Again, you are not a founder so you don't set policy in AOB. What you believe is what you believe but you have no authority to dictate terms regarding the planet either before or now that you are an "enemy".
(Speaking of which, they'll probably need to refuel soon)
Thanks for the reminder, as I have had in mission refueling before, I will simply direct another refueling later. The "trade" fleets will be refueled prior to return and then parked at either L3, L4 or L5, thus can conserve fuel at a higher rate then the "punitive" fleets that will be conducting patrol patterns beyond L1 and L2.
Regarding other RPs having a presence in the world of AOB, I believe that an earlier version of Green Team had one base that was viewed, for a time, as being on the other side of the planet from Alpha Outpost. This base was destroyed and a second base - I believe that was in a dead volcano - was inhabited for a time and then - I believe - either abandoned, destroyed, partially destroyed or a combination of the three.
The RPs High Ground and Gamma Outpost were off-spring of AOB so they are part of the AOB universe.
At present, I know of no other RP claiming to be on the same planet as AOB. If you know of one, feel free to link so I can study the issue and determine which areas of the planet would be impacted by Q.M.S.S. activities in orbit and vice versa.
Also, a Group is a Group and an RP is an RP. A Group may be a subset of an RP but I don't see the reverse happening. If you have an example whereby a Group has domination over an RP in the Games Forum, feel free to provide a link.)
<This is Warrant Officer DustBunny, if you check the desk top of the Com Link, you will find a short cut icon that is a death's head with the letters S.M.B. When you click on that, you will activate a program within the Com Link. You will have various command codes to choose from. Each code will generate a short range encrypted pulse that will be intercepted by the armor and the armor will perform various actions. The first of the list will activate the rigidity function and the second on the list will release that rigidity function. If you wish to restore the ability of Private JHM to move, click on the second option. If the private decides to go rogue, simply click on the first option and the armor goes rigid and he will probably fall flat on his face, depending on his motion at the time the code is transmitted and received. You will also find a third option marked dismemberment which will bring up a new screen and the final option on that new screen with be termination with extreme prejudice which will detonate the C7 charges in the armor. If you decide to exercise that option, it is recommended that you be approximately 100 meters away from Private JHM. If you wish to simply eliminate the private without detonation, then click on the hangman's noose option which will activate an energy garrote at the neck line and the private will be decapitated. The dismemberment screen also gives you the option to, let us say, motivate the private by removing various appendages from his body, such as feet, hands, arms, legs, etc. These commands are marked with the appendage to be removed. Simply click on the appropriate appendage and respond yes when the query box is displayed on the screen and the command code will be transmitted to remove the portion of anatomy selected.
This message will be stored in memory in the event the operator is not presently on the Com Link.
If the operator is available, I will stand by for approximately 20 minutes before turning over operations to my on duty staff.
*While going through some last minute reports before calling it a night, note that fuel reserves are getting low due to the constant patrol patterns being flown. Dispatch a message to have a re-fueling fleet respond to the system as well as organize retrofits for 8 of the Parabola Class Freighters.*
(Yeah, ever since Green Team left we're the only ones on this planet.
'Together with a lot of enemy armies...
I'm sticking with the theory that we're all just a couple of social misfits command has deemed 'unstable' and planned on keeping us as far from anything as possible.)
