Due to Xilv's sudden departure midway through the Winter League, the UK community must decide on the commissioner for the Summer Leauge. Each of the candidates are listed below with their views on how the UK summer league shall be run.

Ok so firstly league idea, seeded system with too Elite league and one or two Rookie leagues, bumrush to decide the seeding then the elite teams will be split into odd and evens to make up the league. Top two teams from each Elite league will go on to the playoffs with 3rd from both league playing for the 5th position. The rookie system will workin the same way but only winners of league(s) will go through with second place from each league playing for the final 8th spot. Other Changes consist of bringing in the 'reserve card' idea to allow a team to bring in a player from outside the team to play in a game where they canoot get a full team on, this can only be used once and is there to attempt to stop 3v3's or rescheduleing's from occuring as often. This can only be used once per league and the other team must agree to the player being allowed on the team and our completely within their rights to not allow the player to play.
Another thing I would like to do is reduce the team size to 6, to try and increase the amount of team in the league and also stop teams from sidelineing players and allowing those players to hopfully play more games. On the topic of disputes a group of 5 reliable community members will be chosen to handle the disputes (each member being from a different team). 3 of them will view the film and majority vote will determine whether the game should be replayed or not, their decision will be based on over all gameplay and not just bomb scores. Finally game scheduling; We should aim to have atleast 2 games played per week with a catch up week the end of the playoffs, any games not played up to that point will be void, no extensions, if however a team can prove to me that they have made an effort to schedule the game they will be given the win providing they can prove it (things like xbox live messages and RT comments which can be forwarded or screenshooted).

The league system itself will be organised into one big league of teams such that every team will play each other (most likely once if we have the usual 20ish teams). 2 games will be scheduled to play each week and unless both teams agree and neither is lagging behind on games, then a forfeit will be given to the team who has either played the least number of games (is lagging behind, in order to encourage them to catch up), or the team who has made the least effort to get the game organised. However, ideally this forfeit ruling should not need to come into effect. At the end of the league, the league winner is the one with the most victories, if tied on numbers of victories, the teams with the same number of victories will have their own mini playoffs. In addition, at the end of the league, the top 16 teams (if available) will go into an extra knockout competition. The league system will be used to give each team a wide range of experiences and make sure everyone gets a chance to play both with teams of similar and different skills.
A disputes committee will be set up with 4 members of different teams and myself. Then for each dispute, 3 will be selected (none of which will have connections with the game) and the dispute decision is majority rule. The rest of the current rules note previously mentioned will remain the same.
Sir Jimmy 1. First main thing I would do is to have a dedicated EUGB committee. The role would involve several players that are involved in the league and shall deal with a certain part of the league highlights, disputes etc. the reason behind this is stop biased opinions from happening and at the same time keeping the league flowing at a good rate. 2. Next the league layout itself. Most people already know about my premier league system. At this stage I cannot say whether a SPL or standard premiership system would be implemented as it would be decided on the amount of teams that would sign up for the season. Games would be played by a set date likely to be on Wednesday and Saturday. This is to keep things running smoothly and ultimately keeping people interested in Grifball. Only in special circumstances where the committee agrees the game to be played on a different date would be allowed. A win for a game would equal 3 points. If a game is not played and the committee decides that one side alone is at fault, both teams will receive 1 point. It sound tough but the more experienced teams can see that it forces the league to be over when it should be and not going over time. 3. Half way through the league a second competition (or a FA cup as I like to see it) would also be played consisting of teams being picked at random. It is my intention for both leagues to receive prizes details of this to be decided. At the end of the season the winner of both the standard league and the cup will play each other to decide overall UK champion (charity shield for the lols). 4. I would also look towards talking with the US league (possibly AUS league as well) about a possible champions league. I can assure you this is the last thing on my mind. To me the UK league comes first. It would simply be a fun short tournament probably like a bumrush. 5. With regards to the forums I would implement a 3 strike warning system. Rules will be clearly shown at the beginning of a new topic and failure to comply with the rules on 3 occasions will result in a ban. The length of the ban will be decided by the reason for the ban and how many bans you have had before. The committee will have influence in this to keep an unbiased opinion. 6. As I went over earlier I want the league to have prizes for each tourney. Whether this is funded by me or RT is to be decided. I would also look at giving prizes away to people that performed well in the season e.g. golden bomb.
I hope people will vote for me as I like being involved in the league and as most know, I’m regularly online. If voted I wish to be available to all that need me and will help with any problems found. Most people by now know that I am fairly unbiased and like to help and encourage people into joining the league where possible or teaching them things I have learned. I understand people make mistakes, we are all human after all but if I were to make a mistake I would apologise and correct it as soon as possible
yoda nailed it, gingerlink for comish...tick had some exelent ideas but i think i would prefere gingerlinks experience to get the league back on its feet as its june for fucks sake and we havnt finished winter league
Man this is tough, I like idea's from all of them. But i have issues with them all too: Jimmy: i don't think the points system would work as effectivly as our current system. Link: One massive league seems like we'd just be becoming the AUS league wouldn't it? Tick: Shortening the teams would mean losing players from our roster who we've become friends with.
Ok, i vote for Tick, not because he's a teammate, but because i like his no extension policies, games should be played as soon as when scheduled, this league is living proof.
