The geniuses that created Shadow of the Colossus are giving the PS3 a neat exclusive. The Last Gaurdian, from Ign it's supposidly the third game in the trilogy for the universe of Shadow of Colossus.

Last Gaurdian E3

I think the game's concept looks neat your a little boy and you have a giant bird/dog creature and you explore the world it seems pretty cute and fun.

Yeah... I made the same mistake with the Left 4 dead 2/Left 4 Dead franchise thread.

Happens.

Title fixed.

That said, one of the few games at E3 I'm not at all looking forward to.

Well Shadow was running around fighting monsters 100x your size this is just running around with a chicken/dog I can see why he's not excited.

I'm going to take a guess, just having watched the trailer. The giant chicken-cat-dragon dies in the end.

The music is probably the most hinting, peaceful with a touch of foreboding sadness

I never played Shadow of the Colossus. I'm just not typically a big fan of these Japanese-styled action or mythology games. It's just not my thing.

Meh there's good japenese games and there are bad ones. Shadow of Collosus and Final Fantasy are examples of good ones.

Well, that's stretching it a little. There are classic final fantasy games and then there are... interesting ones, but if you're not going to play Shadow of the Collosus because it looks like a "japanese styled mythology game" then you're missing THE PS2 game. Seriously. Have you even seen it in action? Youtube doesn't really count because most of those are blurry as all fuck... Ah. I have an idea, go watch the Adam Sandler movie Reign over Me (and no, it doesn't suck. I know, it's a fucking miracle! (Probably because it's not a comedy... though is can any of his movies be called that... but that's beside the point)

Shadow features quite heavily in the movie and they manage to use it as a metaphor for the plot of the movie.

Can't wait for this. Should be interesting where they go with the storyline.

Im still wondering about the game. Shadow was awesome featuring epic battles this seems more like just a cute platformer from the look of it. But it'll probably end up being fun anyways LBP was childish (though there was a strip club level....) and it was great I guess Sony is just trying to draw the younger audience.

Draw the younger audience, just because it's got a cute creature? Gotta say no to that one. This IS Team Ico under discussion.

I'm a bitter, cynical fucker of a human being, but the trailer had a very Studio Ghibli vibe to it that warmed my black little heart. I just know that this will be a game that plays my emotions like a fiddle, ultimately leaving me in a crushing depression after they do something horrible.

I'll be a wreck and I'll love every second of it.

The music is part of the score from Miller's Crossing, one of my favorite flicks. Fits the mood perfectly but I doubt it'll be in the game.

I'm really looking forward to how this game works. I have a feeling it will mix both of their previous games mechanics to an awesome emotional effect.
