Heavy Rain is a cinematic and evolving thriller from Quantic Dream, the developer behind the critically acclaimed Fahrenheit. Dealing with a range of adult themes, the game revolves around a sophisticated plot and strong narrative threads that explore a complex moral proposition. You assume the role of multiple characters, with very different backgrounds, motivations and skills, in a world shaped by Bending Storylines - a dynamic narrative design where your actions and decisions will shape your story.
Maybe even better. Alan Wake is very very awesome looking but just from watching the trailer for Heavy Rain you can tell you have a lot of options. Like your guy is holding a gun and you can fire it or you don't and it'll effect the story.
Yeah the book thing is really interesting. Heavy Rain seems like the average murder mystery but with the bonus of every part of it could be different depending on what you do so it could take like over 50 playthroughs maybe to explore every possible combination.
Am I the only one who thought Alan Wake looked like a pretentious POS? It just felt to me like whoever wrote the game just REALLY wanted to put together a near cyclical concept (Author writes book, but can't remember all of it, and pages are missing, and book comes to life, and he narrates his own life like it's a book that he wrote, but can't remember all of it, and pages are missing, and the book comes to life, and ...) and make it look dark and deep.
Heavy Rain looks interesting. I think its final grade will come down to whether or not the gameplay itself can be engaging enough, as the storyline and model for delivery of the plot should be plenty interesting if done at all properly. It's one of the reasons I'm considering finally buying a PS3.
Now that you mention it......Ah who knows the game still looks fun even if the author can't remember his own damn book. It's a confusing concept he wrote a book, came to life, lost book, picks up pages, starts to remember and narrate.
Im hoping the Heavy Rain gameplay is good. It doesn't seem like there's going to be intense nonstop action so im hoping the story and investigating keeps me intrigued.
Ah...a fully interactive game with the ability to completely control your characters actions. Ive been waiting for something that could actually use quick time events right
Yeah the quicktime events and such look pretty sweet. Since they say the games story will change depending on if one of the characters die then there could be a lot of mix and matching to do.
The possibilities are endless!!! just imagine it....you use the bathroom BEFORE you brush your teeth and you get killed by germs because you miss the quicktime event to wash your hands...
Or you choose the steak instead of the lobster and choke because you forget steak sauce....JUST IMAGINE!!!
