Bethesda's WET [ 1 ]

Info:
So, apparently the game is about a gun-for-hire named Rubi Malone. The plot goes as such: She takes up a job in which she must find a wealthy man's "wayward son". However, the job soon becomes far more complicated than she had anticipated. She is betrayed, and goes on a killing spree as she goes on the run, looking for the man who betrayed her.

Description, quoted from the site: "WET is a highly-stylized third person shooter that seamlessly blends gun play, sword kills and over-the-top acrobatics to create the ultimate interactive action experience. The game allows you to shoot anywhere, anytime. You will have the freedom to shoot while running, sliding down ladders, sliding across the floor, or performing any number of acrobatic moves. Featuring an ironic mix of humor and violence, unique retro film visual treatment, and original 70's inspired music, WET is third person shooter experience unlike any other." Source. Verify ye age, young ones.

It truly does look unique, and I'm a fan of Bethesda's work in Fallout 3, so I can see this turning out to be a very nice game.

Screenshots.

Trailer.

Interview with some guy from Bethesda.

Well, I'll add any more information if I stumble across any. I was shocked to find that Wikipedia hadn't come up with a page for it yet.

Shouldn't Bethesda be fixing the ridiculously large and unstable bugs in their current games before releasing a new one?

Besides that, the game sounds awesome.

Eh. There are so many issues with having to fix bugs in games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion. For example, the worlds are fucking huge. I'm not sure how this game is going to be structured as far as free-roaming vs. a linear system goes.

In reply to Frank_West, #3:

That should be the sequel.

I'm just really sad, because I can't complete Fallout 3 right now without starting a completely new character. It's a common bug that people have been complaining about since its release, so the fact that Bethesda hasn't done anything about really hurts any chance they've got of getting me to purchase another game of theirs in the future.

Yeah I have a bug for the Head of State glitch. Enough about Fallout 3. There's a forum for that you know. Back to not researching this game any more.

So, basically, it's a B movie in video game form?

They do say that they're using those 70s movies as an influence, particularly on some of the visual aesthetics and music.

There was nothing about their trailer that wasn't 70's grindhouse flicks.

Looks like they watched Planet Terror and Death Proof and took it from there.

I haven't seen the trailer, but if you're at all right about the Grindhouse comparisons I want nothing to do with this game. That shit was horrible.

Yes, yes the work of Quentin Tarantino seems to be playing a large role. Those aren't the only grindhouse films in existence, bro.

I'm pretty sure that insinuates multiple movies. Bro.

Are there any GOOD Grindhouse flicks? Wasn't the whole point of the tarantino thing that the grindhouse movies back in the day sucked?

They're B movie exploitation films. They were supposed to be bad.

The point of the Tarantino/Rodriguez film was to encapsulate the genre while kicking it's ass.

I do like the fact they are moving to a mutil-combat system (ie guns, swords, hand to hand) and not in a more edgy tomb raider with b.f.g.s. If they can pull the 3 forms together, i'd say it's worth a buy.

Storyline sounds kinda thin but looks good.

They really should fix the glitches in Fallout 3 before preceding with a new game though. (ever been to the Bethesda Offices in Fallout 3. SOOO GLITCHY.)

The games are not from the same studios, however they do both have the same publisher.
