Seems like a pretty interesting film. Other than the trailer I know nothing about it. Anybody got any info on this film?

Watching the preview made me pretty stoked about the film itself and I think that both Anthony Mackie and Jeremy Renner will shine in this film. Also the director Kathryn Bigelow seems to put a lot of heart into this film as well, which makes me all the more interested.

I saw it today. Great movie. It reminds me of The Wire and Generation Kill, how it is neutral and neither glorifies or condemns soldiers, or EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), the unit to which the soldiers belong to. This review is a very accurate review, that I agree with a lot, but beware, there are a few spoilers about the character's arc.

Well then I'll read that review after I see the movie. I REALLY wanna see it in theaters, but it's not gonna be released for another week. I just can't wait that long I'm going crazy.

Don't read this comment if you haven't seen the film.

Yeah, that review is spot on. And while I think the director wasn't exactly the next great movie maker, I think that she did some great things with the film that otherwise would've been left out or skewed too much in another directors' hands. I think that the film did a great job with it's casting and the actors all played their part to a T. It was fun to watch, and heart breaking at the same time. I could never understand what those guys were gonna go through, and even after watching this movie I only have a glimpse, but I feel that the film portrayed it in such a way that it was never going to let me down. And it didn't.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't be surprised if this film didn't get some kind of recognition during the next award season. But, at the same time, there's plenty of time between now and December where a film will most certainly get lost in the crowd.

Any thoughts for yourself?

i went in with no expectations and left just completely blown away. this was the first flick since the departed to actually make my heart race. Jeremy Renners portrayal mixes the charm of an action hero with the human depth of a true soldier.

if you havent seen it, go now. its an excellent theatergoing experience

Yeah, this film was pretty darn good at mixing great action with human emotion. Specially those of a soldier in the Iraq and/or Afghanistan war.

It's always going to be known as That Movie Where People Actually Shot Guns At Them.

If known at all. For the most part there seems to be nobody talking about this film anyway. It's a great film that's pretty darn impartial to what most the people in Hollywood think about the war. But it'll be lost in the noise for sure.

Well, part of why it's impartial is because it has no real discernable story structure. It's just a bunch of scenes.
