Yes, it's also a film starring Jim Carrey. But, while the film shares some similar themes with the book, it has suffered the Hollywood treatment and lost a lot of the charm of the original book.
Written by Danny Wallace, a producer and broadcaster for the BBC, it's a story of self discovery, love and loss, and the perculiarities of my countrymen.
If you're stuck for something to read, I'd reccommend this, if for no other reason than because it's different. There are better reasons, of course, but I don't want to spoil anything. You may find, however, that it puts a real spring in your step. Above all, it's a story about hope.
