For those of you not afraid to admit that you still play the games all these years later.

If you play the video games, watch the show, or collect the cards, this is the place for you.

Forget that the franchise started back in 1998, and that you might still be interested in a 10 year old kids entertainment activity.

Pokemon Platinum Review (Not by Me)

You know, I was planning on doing the review for this game when I finally beat the Elite Four, but seeing as how that won't be happening for quite a while, I'll just do the review now.

When I finally inserted the game card into my DS, I was thinking, "This is going to be a piece of cake. I'll have beaten the Elite Four by the end of spring break. After all, it is just a remake."

Holy fuck, was I wrong or what?

This isn't just a remake of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. For starters, the main playable characters have different outfits. Second off, some major characters, like your rival, the gym leaders, the Elite Four, have their own battle animations, like the pokemon do when you send them out into battle. Also, some of the gym leaders and Elite Four have different pokemon, which means you have to now rethink the party you're going to take them on with. And the Sinnoh Pokedex is now 210 pokemon, Manaphy, Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina included (don't worry about the first three, you'll get images of them into your pokedex before you take on the Elite Four). Another noticable feature is the new gyms. Some of the gyms have undergone major renovations, mainly the Ghost, Fighting, and Grass gyms. The puzzles are fun, and they're unexpected. But then there's the Distortion World, where Giratina lives in its awesome Origin Form (I refuse to say "Forme", because that's just weird). Let me tell you. The Distortion World seems like "Bill and Ted Meet Cheech and Chong In Some @#$%ed Up Place Where The Laws Of Physics Don't Mean Jack$@%#". I had a headache by the time I got through that hellish nightmare, which brings me to the little matter of the "bosses". Holy Shit. You'll probably be screaming at the DS and turning it off frequently at times to avoid losing money when you lose battles. Especially for Cyrus in the Distortion World, where a loss means having to do the whole Mt. Coronet and Distortion World all over again. But once you get past the mind numbing puzzles and cheap-ass boss trainers, then you have a great time. It's still just a remake, but one that you'll have fun with forever.
