New York Comic Con: Watchmen Preview
I should've posted this a LONG time ago, but when I went to Comic Con I got to see the first 18 minutes of the film consisting of the Comedian's murder and Rorschach breaking into the apartment, plus an extra 30s clip of Rorschach in prison.
The fight was BRUTAL. I mean, it was really nasty. The opening credit montage was fantastic (I won't tell you what was in it, but trust me, you'll be cheering at several points), and Rorschach's introduction was good. So I can safely say at least that part of the film is quality work.
Afterwards, Dave Gibbons spoke as part of a two-person panel (I don't remember who the other guy was, and frankly I don't care!), and it was interesting to hear him talk. He did say that he felt okay with the changes Snyder made to the ending and that it preserved the overall feel of the novel. That didn't stop several people from shouting "Squid!" and "Squiddy!" during the presentation.
