My original thinking for getting the instrument was for being able to play many sounds in a pit orchestra, etc. - they always like to hire musicians who can play multiple instruments/sounds.
I know...I want one of those jobs.
I think those instruments work better the way you're using them...having greater musical control over a MIDI or sampled sound. I don't think we're at the point where a computer can replace a violin, but this can certainly COMPLIMENT instead of replace.
