Back in Japan

Hello lovelies. I flew out of Detroit on the 17th, mercifully had no flight drama in Minneapolis St. Paul where I had my connecting flight, and got into Tokyo around 4pm yesterday. I didn't get back home until 9 something PM because I live in a small, far-away-from-the-airport city, so I had to wait ages for a bus, but I got home none the less. I still don't have an official contract for the next school year, though the company I worked for last year has offered me a part time position at an elementary and junior high which I'm tentatively saying I'll take just in case nothing better comes up. Full time > Part time > unemployment + soon to expire work visa = illegal immigrant. (I totally understand maths.) That's about it for now. After I got home last night, my suitcase exploded all over the living room (with Chaa's help...) and I gave presents to my people and my new clothes were examined and approved of. Either tomorrow or Sunday, the rest of Chaa's family is going to come over, so I can see them too and give them all my little gifties.

Oh, and in case your interested, it's much easier to adjust myself to a 13 hour time difference than it is to get used to day light savings time. Woke up this morning at 8, fresh and bright eyed.

INTERESTS
Art reading writing learning foreign languages (German and Japanese) renaissance fairs SCA medieval text illumination crayons movies making clothes (historical or unique) chocolate cross stitch word origin kids books hats cooking shiny things fuzzy things the word peanut butter (two words actually...) playing my DS Macs black & white photography food that is bad for me hmm... what else?
FAVORITE MUSIC
Pretty much anything... No country or techno. I don't hate them but after a while I develop a twitch.
FAVORITE MOVIES
Princess Bride Mulan Lotr Harry Potter Star Wars (episodes 4 5 and 6 more so than 1 2 and 3) V for Vendetta Pirates of the Carribean Amilie Nausicca of the Valley of the Wind Snatch Stranger Than Fiction Office Space 300... Many others... I'm not really much of a chick flick kind of girl. I';ll watch then with friends but I don't really understand the point. Horror is out for me too. I saw Gremlins when I was 5 and haven't watched much horror since.
FAVORITE TV SHOWS
LOST The Office Chuck Firefly a few others that I watch when I get the chance. My job ruins my loyalty.
FAVORITE BOOKS
Many. M-A-N-Y. Fantasy and Sci-fi anything by Chaim Potok C.S. Lewis and a few others Manga art books books that people leave laying around too long books that have fun covers books that are free books that are cheap I love them all. Cancel that. I don't read the scary romances. You know the ones where the cover is a guy who's too muscley and groping a girl who's clothes are conveniently falling off. Not a fan of those.
FAVORITE VIDEO GAMES
Proud owner of a bluish green DS. I have nintendogs and super mario world 2 Super Mario Bros. Brain Age Cooking Mamma (which is totally Japanese and I adore) InuYasha for the DS and Lost in Blue 2. I want Zelda but my wallet can't keep up. Hotel Dusk is also on the wish list.

Pretty much the only picture I got from that weekend was the one of you and Orion! It's on my blog. Click on the picture to open the full-sized photo. If that's still not big enough let me know and I'll email it to you.

None of the stores my friend in New York went to or my mom went to in metro Detroit sold the hot chocolate. That's what I'm really craving, Timmy's caffe mocha. Only the Canadian stores sell that. Jerks!

Buy awesome. They'll even sell you replacement soles and heels. And I hear they have a "we think you're awesome" sale every August.

That's a tough one. Didn't all your shoes just get washed? If so, maybe buy several pairs. Those $150 shoes are really cute! There are a lot of sale now though that might be great.

I'm with Poe right now, and she says get several pairs.

In reply to Japan_books, #2:
This is one thing that I definitely don't miss about living in Michigan. I think we've had maybe an inch of snow here all winter.
Yeah, but we normally don't get this kind of snow in Delaware. Maybe a few inches here or there, but that is normally it.

I invited by co-worker over the week you're here. She's super awesome and would love to visit Japan some day.

That week I'm planning on at least pizza, lasagna, and burritos. We may also try a Greek chicken dish I have.

Haha, that's funny. He has his mama's nose. We're very Western European.
