Anniversary coming up...
Mike and I have been together for almost a year now, and in light of that fact I'm thinking of taking him to a hotel in the city for the night...
What do you think of this?

NYE
I'm going to a party being thrown by a friend of mine. It's going to have somewhat of a steampunk theme to it. I'm planning on getting this outfit.
What do you think?

Ranty Arrow is ranty...
There are some things in life which just tick me off, be they people, weather, radio stations or movies, they just managed to rub me the wrong way. Now there's not really much I can do about most of these things, I just have to learn to deal with it and move on. (In the case of people though, I do wish that I could get the people in question to deal with their failings instead, but unfortunately that's not how things work *le sigh*) However this morning I am in somewhat of an uncharitable mood... Let me tell you why...
Seeing as how I'm at home a lot, what with not having a full time job and only returning to school this week, I find myself doing a lot of housework. Dishes are my most hated chore. If I NEVER had to do dishes again it would be too soon, but I know that they have to be done, so I do them. However, some of the people I'm currently living with ALSO seem to hate doing dishes, and will quite frequently leave them unwashed on the sink for days. I can deal with a coffee mug or a small plate and butter knife, but leaving all dinner dishes there unwashed is annoying and downright unhygienic. And nine times out of ten, I need one or more of the items to cook the next night, so I end up washing them. I have tried leaving these dishes and only doing mine and Mikel's stuff, but that doesn't seem to work. So inevitably, I end up doing ALL of the dishes, not just the ones that we have made or the items that I need, just because I can't stand leaving dirty dishes in the sink for so long. This said, due to the share-housing nature of things, I quite frequently cook and not wash my dishes straight away. Normally I rinse them and leave them in the sink whilst the rest of the housemates do their cooking so I'm not getting in their way, but I will either do them later that evening once the kitchen is empty again, or the next morning once everyone has gone to work. Things have improved slightly since the new girlfriend of this particular housemate moved in, but not to the level that I think necessary. Now this wouldn't annoy me quite so much if on the occasions that I do leave a few items in the sink (in the case of last night, 2 plates, a pair of knives and forks, and a frying pan, so not a huge amount), in recognition of the fact that I do wash their dishes A LOT OF THE TIME, they would do the same and wash the few items that I haven't washed yet... But this almost never happens. The only time I have seen it happen has been when the gf is doing the dishes and I come out and help by drying them and putting them away... Hell, I can deal with them just doing the plates and cutlery and leaving the frying pan, but no.
The moral of the story? We need a dishwasher...
Also, I'm totally bummed right now because the dress I bought for Halloween broke last night. I tried it on last week to make sure that I could move around and do stuff in it properly, without breaking something or restricting my movements... this involved me jumping around, doing squats, and generally looking like a loony in my corseted dress just to ensure it would work properly. Last night I decided to try on the ENTIRE outfit, including grey wings and big black boots (I was going for a whole "Angel of Darkness" thing) and the damn zipper split in my dress. I have never felt more fat, ugly and disappointed in my life than in that very moment. What makes it worse is that I am completely and utterly skint (I have $17 to my name and I still have to buy my knife kit and uniform for school next week ($295), I don't know how I'm going to manage that) so I can't even go out to thrift stores and come up with a costume by tonight. I am soooooo pissed off right now!

In light of recent comments...
As most of you know, I like clothes. I tend to blog about it quite frequently. One of you thinks I should go into fashion, though I know I couldn't design clothes, and I don't have the money to start up a store. What I have been thinking about for some time now though, is possibly a weekly clothes blog on what to wear in certain situations and for certain body types, mainly focusing on women, but I can certainly extend the same courtesy to mens wear. What I need from you is a list of occasions or events that I could use as a base point. Or even a link to a base item of clothing or an accessory that I can build an outfit around.
So what do you think of this as an idea anyway?

GOD DAMN EBAY!!!
So on the trip down to Naracoorte on Friday night, my lovely man decided to get onto Youtube and look at videos of SNES games that we know and love (Mario, DK, SF, etc). This morning when I get into work, after I book my NRL Grand Final tickets (GO STORM!!!), I skip across to Ebay to see if I can find a reasonably priced SNES or N64… and then proceeded to purchase said SNES plus 4 games… Super Bomberman II, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country and Street Fighter II… I’m also currently bidding on Super Mario Kart… And I’m watching a N64 auction with 6 games… which I’m also HIGHLY tempted to buy… DAMMIT!!!

I just love the internet...
So it's the end of my first week of temping for Metier3, and I must say that I really do like it here. Sure, the job may be a bit slow from time to time, but the people are lovely, the view (in my opinion) is beautiful, and I get to spend most of the day on the internet. What's not to like?? The bonus part about being online all day is that I get to look for cool new stores to check out, whereas if I was at home I'd probably be playing video games or watching TV... or getting the dog to take me for a walk... And today's offering was found through Modish, and is called Art Garage Sale. I particularly liked their jewellery section, finding a number of rather interesting pieces.
