From The Start It Was Shaky
And the characters rash, a nice setting for heartache where emotions come last All I have deep inside, to overcome this desire are friendly intentions and fair-weather smiles Man, it sucks not coming on this site regularly because you all write so many freakin' journals it's hard to keep up with 'em!!

You Already Know
How This Will End Man, this week has been pretty sweet. And will only get better. I've been to two concerts. One of them free, both of them bad ass. One by Brand New and one by Weezer. If you think about how much I paid for one ticket and divide that by two it was almost like I got to see one band for around thirteen bucks. That's a little more than a movie ticket. And today I saw a free movie. So divide that number three times and it's somewhere around eight and a bit of change. A little much for a movie, but fucking cheap for a concert. And two bad ass concerts is better than one. I think you get the point. I had been looking forward to seeing Brand New in concert ever since I knew that they'd be showing up in the bay area. Too bad it was a little over an hour drive from my house to go see the show, but whatever. This is the show I paid for, and for this band I'd probably would've paid a lot more to go see an acoustic show by them. Got to the show a bit late, but showed up none the less. Paid for two very expensive beers, but we pre-gamed in the parking lot and so by the time I finished my beers I was buzzed. First time I've ever had enough alcohol at a concert for that it to take effect. Didn't really change my concert experience, but didn't hinder it either. Might do so again if costs aren't crazy huge.
Anywayz, back to the concert. Brand New came out with a new album in late Sept, and I've been listening to it on and off since then. It's different, as they like to change their sound with every album they come out with (only in minor ways, but they do change/move forward) and it's usually pretty cool. Though this last album might divide a lot of fans with their new sound... Either way, when they played some of their new stuff they brought a different energy to the stage. It was awesome and I hope to see them again soon.
Tuesday night I got a text from a friend of mine asking me if I had class on Wednesday. I did, until five. He said that that was a bummer because there was going to be a free Weezer concert in the city at 7. And because it'd be a free concert I'd probably have to show up at the crack of dawn to get in. So being the responsible child that I am I told class to go fuck itself and went to the concert. Duh, obviously a no brain-er there. Got to the concert/hall/ginormous line around three because I had to actually go to class and tell the teacher what was going to happen. My friend had already been there for about a half hour and it actually seemed like we had a pretty darn good chance of getting into the show. Around four they actually started handing out wrist bands so that whoever got one would actually get into the show and it didn't matter if you came or went, as long as you had one you got into the show. But my friend's wife hadn't gotten to us yet so we were trying to see if we could get another wrist band for her. Found out that they were gonna hand out more wrist bands around five so we just had to keep waiting. Waited long enough to get a wrist band and got one. So my friend and his wife went to grab some grub and we just sat in the line to get into the show and waited till the doors opened.
Doors opened and the crowed moved in with huge anticipation. There was an opening band called Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. They're... weird. I heard that they're like Flight of the Concords, but with a more electric/pop rock style. All I know is they suck live and really need to learn how to play music better. If I could hear their lyrics, I might laugh a few and that'd make it better. But sadly they played their instruments way too loud and their vocals were way too quiet. Oh well...
Weezer showed up after what seemed like ages and played a fuck ton of old and new songs. It was great. And half way through their show they played this random ass mix of a song that started off with Black Sabbath and transitioned into an MGMT/Lady Gaga remix. It was fuckin' awesome and weird all at the same time. Sick how they could play it all, but fucking weird having them sing "Poker Face" on stage... Whatever, show was free. And they ended with Buddy Holly. Which is fucking awesome!
So last night, Thursday, I saw Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant with the same friend from the Weezer excursion. Show started around seven, so my friend got there around five and I got there around six. I brought food and we had fun chatting it up. He made an interesting comment about how when he was learning how to drive, but before he took drivers ed, he didn't know how to give a right turn signal without using his blinker. He thought you'd have to roll the right side window down and point out the window to make the right turn. Cuz that's what you do to turn left, so why wouldn't you do it to turn right? Right?!
So we saw the flick. It's alright. Everything that's about Vampire's sells now, so I'm sure this flick will do just fine. Problem with it's continuation is that if they really want to keep going with this story line they better get more dark or make it more comedy like because this flick really didn't have much going for it. It was several different story lines going at once and they all ended before they could get started. It wasn't cool. But it wasn't bad either. I enjoyed it more than my friend did, that's for sure. I tend to like movies that are more about fantasy than real life crap. Plus, the dude gets the chick. How can you not like that?

If A Tree Falls In The Woods
And no is around... Do the other trees point and laugh at it? I'm reading two books right now. One is Generation Kill and the other is The Tomorrow File. Both very different, very interesting books.
Doesn't it suck when you take a test ,you walk out with that good feeling that you just kicked it's ass, then you get the test back and you fall back to earth? Yup, that feeling sucks.
Finally saw this flick. Now I know why everybody wanted to be "the dude". Twas a fun and pretty funny flick.

If I Wanted To Die Before I Got Old
I would've stared some years ago digging that hole. This month hasn't exactly been the best, or the worst. Just... hard. Specially yesterday. Man, this is most certainly a "Here's your sign" moment for me.
I was driving to work, like any normal Joe would do. And I'm actually early, which is a rare occasion for me since I don't mind showing up five minutes late or five minutes early. Mostly cuz when I'm at work I get shit done. But that's not the point. As I'm driving up the street to my job I see this other guy on the side of the road flagging down people. As I get up closer he's waving jumper cables in the air and it seems like everybody is passing him up. And since I'm early, and more or less a nice guy, I decide to pull over and jump his car.
I pull up, pop the hood, get out of the car and shut the door. I'm on a one way road and it's one lane with cars parked on either side of the street. Lets just say it's crowded, but most cars could find their way around the side of my car. So he hooks up the cables, starts his car in about a minute, and he's pretty much ready to go. I close the hood of the car, walk to the side of the door and open the door.
Or... at least I thought I could open the door. Turns out that I had left the keys in the ignition and had locked myself out of my car. Now here I am, on a fairly busy street in San Francisco, double parked, locked out of my car on a one way street where not just cars come up, but major bus lines and sometimes moving vans drive up and down.
At this moment in time my heart beat is starting to rise, but I'm not too worried cuz what can I do but call a lock smith. So I call this supposed 24 hour lock service to try and get me out of it. And I start to hear their recorded message saying "Your call is very important to us, please stay on the line as calls will be answered in the order received." After I listen to this message for what feels like an hour I hang up and realize that I have my gfs Triple A card in my wallet. I whip it out and call them. They say that somebody will be there in twenty minutes or less. Now with my recent success with Triple A I thought that this was pretty funny, but either way, I need somebody.
So I just sit on some apartment building's front steps and wait. But by now there's some traffic building up behind my car because a local bus had stopped right behind my car. I walk up to the driver and tell him the situation and he says that I've gotta get my car out of the way. I say a lock smith will be here in twenty. He says he's gotta call a tow truck. I say first come first serve, but my money was put on the lock smith. Waiting for a tow truck is like waiting in the DMV. You're going nowhere fast.
After about ten minutes, there's a hefty pile of traffic built up on this road. About four buses and twenty or so cars had been stopped behind my car in about a four block span. This would've been funny if the buses didn't unload all their passengers and they all start walking up the hill, taking a look at the car, looking at me and sneering. It was even better when I had gotten awesome advice from some people. One dude even tried opening the front door a couple of times. I told him politely to keep his hands to himself.
And after waiting for about twenty minutes, who should show up but a wonderful man with a way to jimmy the lock open. Sadly this is one of the men that i have to pay, but either way, I'm glad he opened my door. The buses all passed along as well as the cars behind them. Ending a very entertaining, and yet annoying half hour of my life. That'll teach me to ever be nice again.

We Never Are What We Intend
Or Invent So, I've been thinking for a while now that a group of people that I hang out with isn't as good for me as they once were. I'm starting to debate whether or not I should drop them. But since I've known them for quite a long time, would that really be wrong?
This is actually just about a specific person. If you knew a person long enough, and just now realized that s/he weren't always good for you, and in fact sometimes even harmful, would you still be around that person?
