Damn...forgot to post this yesterday`

Well, yesterday, February 2nd, was Ally's completion of her second trip around our local star. We had her party Sunday, so yesterday was pretty normal, but it is still an incredible event to watch a child grow. Her vocabulary grows every day, and soon she will be arguing w/ me.....although I look forward to her "why" questions. I think after two or three hour long explanations as to why, she will stop asking me those questions.

Besides that, everythign else is chugging along. Got a few job estimates in the works, so hopefully that will mean some money coming in soon!

Say hi to your mom for me!

Sarcasm

Begin rant:

This journal was thought of w/ a lot more bile and hatred...thankfully I have cooled off some since Sunday.

Want to know one of my absolute favorite things to do? I so love cleaning up after another human. Especially when that human is a stupid child trapped in an adults body.

Gretchen has an ex-husband. I introduced them years ago. As I was on my way out of Pensacola, way back when, they started dating, and it turned into a marriage....for about 2 years. Then Gretchen realized what a lot of others already knew, and that was the guy she was w/ (please note, I am not saying his name, b/c I dont want to sully my keyboard w/ those strokes) was nothing but a selfish little brat who cared nothing for anyone but himself. When he didnt get what he wanted, he insulted and threatened. I have no time or tolerance for people like this.

So, this person, who I will refer to as "piece of shit" or "POS" for now on, was in the military...for the second time, when he and Gretchen got married. His first run was the army, and then, when he couldnt find anything else to do, he joined the Navy. They got bounced around a while, and ended up in Jacksonville, FL. the POS was away on some kind of Duty, and Gretchen had to pick out the house they would buy in Jax. She found a nice one in a good neighborhood. POS comes back form Duty, and about a month after they move into the house in Jax, they argue, and he threatens her w/ a pistol. She leaves, soon after files for divorce. The divorce gets finalized, and the agreement they had w/ the house was he would live there, and in three years he would refinance the house and give her $3K. Soon after the divorce, he pulls out an equity loan on the house for around $17K. Then the housing market crashed. The house was suddenly worth much less than it was, and it had a second loan on it. Talk about being upside down.

Three years passed and when it came time for POS to refinance, he couldnt get a loan to cover all the expense he had incurred, so he didnt. Next, the woman he was currently manipulating came to her senses and left the POS, taking their child and everythign else w/ her. Poor little POS had a breakdown, and decided he didnt want to live in that house anymore...so he moved out, and stopped paying on it.

Gretchen has never had a late payment in her life. She is responsible and cares about her credit score and debt. Her name is still on the house. Now she and I have another house payment to worry about. She decide to short sale it, just to get rid of it and the debt.

We had to go to Jax to pick up Dac....since he was arriving so late in the evening, we decided to use the now empty house to crash in for the night and drive back in the morning. The house was a disaster. To start, all the walls had all kinds of stains and spills on them, and the carpets in the bedroom was funky, and growing things. Doors and walls had holes in them, and the POS had recently put down tile floor in all the common areas, but had not finished, as in, no baseboards, and several spots were missing grout, and a few spots were just done wrong.

This past weekend, Gretchen, my father, and myself went to the house and started fixing things. We put down the baseboards, painted a lot of the house (as much as 5 gallons of paint would do), and generally cleaned everythign we could. We got a lot done, and we have a lot more to do. Jax to P'cola is a 5 hour trip, and we probably have to do it 2 more times.

The house was mostly empty of stuff. The few things that remained were mostly garbage, but there were a few things that could be useful. The POS got mad that we locked the doors and he couldnt go in to get w/e few things were left that he might want. I really dont care what the POS wants. He is the kind of fucktard that threatens to kill himself when someone (specifically females he is/was in a relationship w/) doesnt give him what he wants. I really wish he would stop threatening it and do it.

Well, thats the end of my rant....sorry to have to share this w/ ya'll, but I needed an outlet, and this is my preferred place. If you want a second opinion of the house...ask Dac...he saw it.

Peace, and may something like this never happen to you!

Captain Dac Rogers of the 16th Hour

the full title I wanted wouldnt fit.....it should have read:

Captain Dac Rogers of the 16th Hour in the Future!

He has returned to the past to spread his future knowledge and wisdom. Too bad he didnt have any. All I wanted was 6 numbers?!?!

Before I get into the story of the past 2 days, let me set thing up a bit. Dac has a rail pass for Amtrak Trains. It is how he is going to get around the country to meet all of us Family. Amtrak used ot have station all up and down the Gulf Coast, where ilive, but Hurricanes Katrina and Ivan screwed the tracks up, and they have yet to be fixed. That meant a 5 hour drive from Pensacola to Jacksonville to pick him up. That not really an issue for me, I was glad to do it. He informed me it would be a late train, getting to the station around 10:30 at night, I figured I would go get him and we would drive back that night.....then Gretchen reminded me that she does have a house in Jacksonville. Her ex-husband was living there, but due to his own issues, he is no longer staying there. So she decided she and Ally would go w/ me to pick up Dac, and then we could crash at the house, and it would give her a chance to see what shape it was in. Thats just what we did.

We got there, looted the house for anything we wanted (the ex is a dick, and he said all that was left was trash), set up our beds, and crashed. We got up today and drove home.

Here are some pics of us....I will attempt to post them as chronologically as I can
we meet at the train station

a few of us in the crazy house

too bad it wasnt Worlds End

on the way home today

Dac got a kick out of this oil changing companies name....he said it would be funnier down under.

now we are home

here is Dac and Ally on my comfy couch

here is a bit of our loot

and here is Dac in all his comfort and glory!

There will be more pics to come...he is here for a few days!

Good Winter

Hello all...it is the eve of X-mas, and I am sitting on the roof w/ a shotgun and poisoned deer feed!

no...I am not, but it is fun to pretend.

We got Ally a new tv for her room. so now she can watch all the Blues Clues and Sesame Streets she wants, and G and I can have our tv back! We also got her a few other things. A puzzle, a magna-doodle, some clothes.

I got Gretchen some candles, a bluetooth headset, and some nice earrings.

I have no idea what she got me, but going by box size and weight, it is either a 360 or a PS3.

I also did this:

I didnt do it for anyone in particular, or any reason, except I was tired of the long hair. Gretchen loves it.

Besides that....I am curious whats in the box for me, and I am hoping you all got half of what you wanted, and all of what you needed!

Peace, love, and harmony to all!

Good Winter!

Avatar

was incredible!

I am truly stunned from the visual spectacle that movie was.

Yes, the story was simple. Yes the plot twist were obvious and a tad formulaic. Yes it was still a truly awesome movie and nothing but pure enjoyment. Pandora was beautiful. I would definitely love to go there. I loved a lot of the small touches...like how everything, all the way down to the insects had 6 limbs....except the Na'Vi....kind of curious about that....anywho, loved it. The entire group I went w/ loved it!

On a completely different note.

My niece has a friend who made a video and posted it on youtube. it is of him and his little sister dancing, and it was one of the funniest things I have seen in a while, so I am going to share it w/ you.

thanx for reading

All Quiet on the Southern Front

the title has nothing to do w/ anything.....except for something dealing w/ everything.

SO.....when people ask me why I drink water I pay for, instead of tap, I can now direct them here. In short, it list my city as the worst tap water in America. Yay us!

Gretchen, Ally and I went to the mall to do some shopping, and we got stuff for people....we also got stuff for ourselves b/c we found great prices on stuff. Hot Topic for example, had all the cool ass comic t-shirts I saw 6 months ago on clearance, so I got 3 cool shirts for $10 a piece for me and 2 for others, and here they are:
classic, w/ shiny

hilarity, for several reasons

and, just to be in the pop mind, Deadpool and Wolverine

I got this one as a gift for one possible future bro-in-law

and I got a classic GI Joe shirt for the other bro-in-law, but I didnt get a pci of it....oh well.

I also want to show you guys the thanksgiving center piece that I had the most fun w/ ever

it was candles on a bed of glass rocks (or counters as we used to call them ), and when the candles melt, they filled in all the gaps and made something weird.

this next pic is Ally sitting on my late grandfathers tractor. It is now my parents tractor. it is a 1946 International Farmall. It is actually older then my parents, and we still use it. Thats cool!

Besides all this, life is going ok....need more work, but thats a norm across the board, and once the season passes, there will be plenty to do, I know.

I am looking forward to seeing Dac when he gets here next month. Also, last i heard, this guy is supposed to get stationed near me, so I have hanging w/ him to look forward to as well!

Avatar arrives in 5 days, and from what I have read, it is a beautiful fun movie that prefers to use hammers to explain its finer points. I am cool w/ that....I am wanting to see the spectacle more than the commentary.

Thats about all I got for now.....thanx for reading!
