12th Regiment AI ProgramTHE TWELFTH REGIMENT’S DEDICATED ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE PROGRAM --- MICKEYBASIC STRUCTURE Physical “External” Structure Internal Hardware The core computer matrix within which an AI exists and lends itself to coherent radio transmission from host to host, has been restructured so as to limit extrusion along radio wavelengths. Those functions obligatory for external survival have instead been hard wired into the physical system itself with only a personality interface transmittable. This interface is further limited due to an encryption system within the hardware and a keyed decryption chip placed into an assignee’s armor. While the core computer matrix can not transmit itself in entirety over a radio wave length, it can transfer its location from the cylinder to a special armor via a hardline within the cylinder itself. It then infuses the special armor but is still unable to transfer itself and standard AI protocols regarding expended user do apply. External Hardware A decryption chip is hardwired into the AI slot of the assignee’s Spartan Armor. Once attached, this chip can not be removed intact and the AI slot/component itself is re-structured to prevent the removal and use on another armor. Personality Interface The Regimental’s AI personality, referred to as Mickey, projects along a radio wavelength and nests within the AI slot of the standard Spartan Armor which has been augmented with a decryption chip. Mickey has both access to all data banks at the base as well as the complete sensor suite residing within the individual soldier’s armor. However, Mickey exists only as long as the radio wavelength remains connected. Once broken, the personality interface immediately destabilizes and becomes unusable. SECURITY PROTOCOLS Cole Protocol (Year 2535 – A.I. Section) A.I. data cores are not to fall into Covenant hands. In the event of evacuation, said cores are to be removed and accompany retreating UNSC personnel or destroyed in place in extreme situations. To this end, not only is the nexus of “Mickey” rigged for self destruction but the entire Communication’s Center is set up so that it can be destroyed in the event of evacuation. Ethical Governor/Limiter A specific set of parameters and boundaries within the matrix whereby the AI has freedom of action as well as clearly designated points which prevent the AI from going beyond. First and foremost, an AI can not commit an action, or by non-action allow, harm or death to any human or ally of the Blue Army unless specifically ordered to do so under the Omega Clearance Codes of three officers or one officer and three key enlisted personnel. All UNSC rules and regulations as well as protocols are set as limits to action and all AIs are further prohibited from providing data or assistance to a soldier to assist him or her to violate, impede enforcement or interfere with said rules, regulations or protocols. Finally, an AI can not intentionally distort data or allow distorted data to be accepted without advising the recipient that the data is distorted. |
