Beta Outpost - Plateau Area and BeachBETA OUTPOSTFollowing a sustained battle and the downing of a star ship into Beta Sea, the facilities of Beta Outpost were pretty mush wiped out while the base within the ravine survived in its standard state of reasonable disrepair. An Engineer Division came in to deal with the downed star ship and, in the process, retrofitted the the plateau level facilities. With the suicide of the former "assigned" Base Commander, the facility in total was nearly destroyed. All plateau buildings were wiped out and some of the ravine buildings sustained additional damage. However, an Engineer Division entered and, yet again, rebuilt the base. A new Water Filtration System was put on line with piping and pumps capable of providing purified water for the plateau facilities. The two Rinse Showers at the Beach survived along with a fire pit and a barbecue/smoking facility for cooking fish from the soon to be restocked Beta Sea. The barracks was destroyed and replaced with a larger fixed barracks that includes shower/toilet facilities and a slightly larger galley. The barracks is capable of sleeping twelve in an open bay). There is a small Base Commander Office as well as a smaller Base Adjacent's Office as well as a Drone Control Annex under Q.M.S.S. security. Four hanger/maintenance shops have been added to accommodate two scorpion tanks, 4 warthogs, three hornets and a reasonable supply of Mongooses. The Barns are designated Light Air Assault Vehicles, Heavy Assault Vehicles and Light Assault Vehicles. The remaining hanger/maintenance shop has construction equipment of various types, including two skip loaders and two Cement Mixing Warthogs. A Drone Hanger/auto launcher is opposite the main plateau base area. Further, an automated cargo teleport and small warehouse facility has been added. The roadway from the plateau area and the ravine of Beta Outpost's training area has been widened and reinforced to accommodate heavy vehicles. Range towers, com towers and communication bunkers on the plateau were either repaired or replaced, some of the structures still use the salvaged hull plating from the downed spacecraft as well as repaired electronic equipment. The Four new high energy turrets have been replaced with control links in the Beta Base Commander's Office, Alpha Outpost and Gamma Outpost. Further, four Harpoon missile pods have been replaced overlooking the Beta Sea, two pods on the plateau area and two pods within reinforced caves carved out of the cliff face then shielded. An old cargo boom for use to transfer supplies from the plateau to the High Ground site with a storage shed nearby storing various items is all that remains from the original, first level, of construction that occurred at Beta Outpost. Also, due to the recent Engineer activity (Reconstructing the Base), a Mutant Bear Lodge has been added to the facility. |
