You should orchestrate a few promotions. According to this I can tell you what to do, which we all know is bullshit :P Failing that, say that you work for Blue Command, that way Megafire still answers to you for general matters despite your low rank.

In the defence forces, a Commanding Officer of a ship, base or unit is the only person who can give orders to his men. If a higher ranking officer enters the premesis, they must order the CO to order the troops, not do it themselves. That should be your position. Give up the Warrant Officer stuff :P Technically, you don't have the authority to promote anyone higher than First Sergeant, so theres a bit of a discrepancy there.
