netflix

i tried out the netflix streaming on the Xbox last night... briefly. set up was a breeze, but i was amazed at how small the selection was for streaming videos. i have a pretty full (and neglected queue), and only 5 movies came up.

pretty disappointing.

(Left 4 Dead on the other hand, is not disappointing.)

I am still unable to get Netflix until Feb. 17, but since their isn't that many to view, I am not as excited as I was before. More excited to play Left 4 Dead when I get my Xbox fixed though.

Probably will be a while till you can find a good selection on Netflix for the Xbox. Just give it time.

It is my understanding that Sony is boycotting their movies on Netflix, so that the Xbox doesn't take more attention away from the PS3. I'm sure there will be a bigger selection once the legal assholes figure it out

You probably have only new stuff in your queue. Most of that is not on instant yet. Go browse through some instant watching on the website. I will admit that it is not what everyone is thinking, but they are getting new stuff all the time. Also, let's me go back and watch shows I normally wouldn't buy, but like to watch. Clockwork Orange for instance. Watched it the other day. Forgot how good it is.

yeah, i know what you mean. Pretty much all the selections are way older movies and even never heard of them. hopefully they will have newer movies.

Yeah, Netflix has very little available for full streaming. They plan on making it a HUGE selection, though, but I guess that until then we all play the waiting game.

I pretty easily found 65-70 movies/tv shows I felt were worth adding to my queue. It helps now that Sony is finally letting their movies be streamed on the 360.

You have to add movies to your instant queue from you computer to make them available on your xbox. My son didn't know that at first but we figured it out and all is good now.

See, I have this love of B-movies, but only if I can rent them and not buy them. Currently, that's what Netflix for the XBox consists of so my queue consists of movies like Phantom of the Paradise, Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter, Tank Girl, etc.

i didn't even see that many B-movies on there... maybe i wasn't looking in the right place. i think it will get better, and it's free (if you already have netflix). it's just lame b/c you go to the site, see all these films, and can't want most of them on the new service.

The deal with the 360 netflix is you have to add movies to your instant queue. Once you add them to your instant queue from the website, they'll be added to your 360's list of choices.

Streaming is great for watching NBC tv shows. 30 Rock, Heroes, The Office... the UK Office is also available. I recommend "Night Watch" and "Day Watch". They're the last couple movies directed by the guy that directed "Wanted". They're a little hard to follow (being in Russian) but the visual effects are really stunning, especially in the 2nd movie.

Yeah. The netflix instant selection is geared towards real movie buffs. Like the people who can routinely go into any section in the video store and find desirable titles every time. It's hit and miss for the run of the mill weekly renter.

My friend has Netflix, and for some reason he has a different T.V. remote to go with it. I don't know why.. Do you have an extra remote included? It's smaller than regular.
