One Of Many Small Projects
As we were moving into our new house, I took note of some blackberry bushes that were growing along the fence in the RV/Utility parking area next to the garage. Yesterday, I decided to get out there and cut them down so I could kill them off. I had almost forgotten just how fast these blasted plants grow... I took the first picture part way into the job. About a third of the way in, I happened upon an empty bird nest. This seems a strange place to make one considering the rapidity with which blackberry bushes grow. Just under two hours later, I stand victorious... for now. Next on the agenda: Spraying the crap out of the roots. After a few hiccups, all of our appliances are now in working order save one. I am specifically referring to the new microwave we purchased a week ago because the home did not have one. Installing this thing has been a nightmare, but I'm saving that little horror story for a different time. For now, all you need to know is that I've put in about 8 hours of work on something that should have only been an hour-long job, and I still can't use it. Ouch. In other news, Karli, my sister and her fiance (David), and myself have made arrangements with my dad, my father-in-law, and David's dad to take a day trip to Seattle for father's day and take in the Mariners-Diamondbacks game at Safeco Field that afternoon. I can almost taste those delicious garlic fries already... I am about to turn in for the "night". I'm working the next three consecutive nights; put this together with the stretch of three I worked a couple days ago and this means I'll have worked a full pay period (14 days) in only 8 days. It's tiring, no doubt, but this also means I'll get six consecutive days off starting Friday morning. And now, the tasteless joke of the day, courtesy of my "Nurses" page-a-day calendar: Q: What do you call the surgery that changes a woman into a man? A: An addadictomy. It's not funny if I have to explain it... - Nathan P.S. On that note:
