UghSo about this time last week I was heading home from OKC. This makes me sad. I got to hang out with a lot of you folks again, and a few for the first time. Hopefully we don't have to wait until Toronto to hang out again.Last week was hell for me between work and trying to recover from a cold I managed to pick up. Near the end of the week I heard tell of an overnight being planned at best buy on Sunday night. One person already volunteered so I jumped at the chance to really clean things up and make some of the changes we have been planning for a while now. I had to work Sunday from 7-3:30pm at one job. I clocked it around 4:00pm at best buy and didn't leave until around 4:45am. Here I am at my weekday job, very tired. Totally worth it, but the next eight hours are going to crawl. Plus last night one of the guys brought in Pizza. The first piece I grab and sauce ends up on my shirt. Great. Later on I make a run to a grocery store to get some pop / juice since a lot of us pretty thirsty at this point. I get back to the store, get some juice and go back to work. An hour or so later I decide to have some root beer. Now since my shirt had enjoyed some pizza earlier, it was now thirsty as well. Sensing this, the pop decided to EXPLODE... at least partially before I screwed the cap back on. Poor shirt. All in all though, we got a lot of stuff built, organized and moved. I had to remove some of the metal mounts and drill new holes into the concrete without actually having the tools that we need to do that so that we could add larger mounts. That was a blast, but it needed to be done. Now we have two extra desktop terminals. I think I'm going to grab some caffeine. Two hours of sleep isn't enough to recover from 22 hours of straight work. |
