In my opinion a Hoodie is a sweatshirt with a hood.
A Jacket is something that zips, snaps, or buttons up.

Hoodies can be a type of jacket

but

not all jackets are hoodies

so

its like squares and rectangles.

In my opinion a Hoodie is a sweatshirt with a hood.
A Jacket is something that zips, snaps, or buttons up.

I support this.

With that being said, I just so happen to have a Hoodie that Zips up. You know, a Sweatshirt with a hood, and has a zipper, making it a jacket as well.

B although an overcoat is a coat you'd wear over other cover-ups like a sport or suit coat.
