Shelf!
Warning: Completely random and pointless journal ahead!
Ok, so I just got some shelves, a friend was moving and didn't need them any more, and I've been desperately in need of some more shelf space for quite some time. So, they allowed me find a place for some books and games desperately in need of a home. They also mean that my DVDs can finally spread out a bit:
My DVDs, minus the seasons of Stargate SG-1, which still won't fit comfortably.
Finally, I used what was left to put on display some things that I had lying around that needed to go somewhere.
First we've got a General's hat from the now defunct East German military. Picked that up at an army surplus store when I was in Wittenberg. Then a couple of minimates, a comiccon exclusive set of glow in the dark Mr. Stay Puft and Peter Venkman (Peter doesn't glow). Then there's a beautiful pen topped with a pewter cobra. Hidden inside the pen is a knife. Then my Buddy Christ bobblehead.
Next are some yu-Gi-Oh! Egyptian god figures and another set of comiccon exclusive minimates, 4 of the Dark Avengers. Chipper convinced me to pick those up. They're quite cool. And a little Argentine flag I got at a world cup game between Argentina and Brazil when I was in Buenos Aires.
Farther down there's a Napoleonic pistol replica I got in Leipzig at the memorial of Napoleon's defeat (the first one, when he got sent to Elba, not the later one at Waterloo), a stone pedestal that used to have a dragon on it. Got that in Krakow, but the dragon broke in transit back home. The rock still says Krakow, though. Some lollypops we made for Playboy TV and Napster. Then, my favorite, the Mr. Stay Puft bank. This was also a comiccon exclusive, but by the time I got there it was sold out. Bought mine on eBay for twice the original price. You can see these same banks at several stores, but those are happy Stay Puft. The comiccon exclusive was this angry Stay Puft, only 1000 made.
Finally, the Star Trek shelf, with a tribble, who freaks out when there's a loud noise, some solid silver commemorative coins, my ever adorable Trek bear, the Enterprise D card from the Star Trek CCG I played once upon a time, and finally something else I picked up at comiccon (that you can also find at Hastings or a few places online, exclusive my ass), the All Good Things... three-nacelled Enterprise-D.
Better picture here:
So, yeah, lots of fun stuff. I was bored, and took pictures of the stuff with my phone after I got everything looking ok. So, completely pointless journal, but if you ignored the warning and have gotten this far, it's too late to worry about that now.
SUCKERS!!
