Good Deed #109I felt that I should get more of the hundreds of good deeds sent to me over the years, so here is....GOOD DEED #109 This was sent to me 8/8/06 I'm really not one to blow my own trumpet, I can't sell myself, do terrible at job interviews, but I want your award so I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and do it. I'm not even sure if this will count anyway...so a few months ago my local town (pop. 400) lost its local Girl Guides leader, who retired after 25 years. They asked everyone around town, so I stepped up and put my name down for the leaders position, even though I've never been a Guide or Brownie before. Although I think this good deed paid it forward to myself as well as the 20 girls that we get every week, because I'm having heaps of fun! Oh and there is a couple on Roosterteeth who are going through some really rough times right now so I jumped in to give them some sage advice and try to help keep them together, because you just have to fight for true love when you can recognize it. Oh and when my dad died a few years ago, my mum still had kids at home so I moved my family back to my hometown to help her out. Actually I'm pretty much always helping out, I give to a dozen different charities, I'm always throwing coins into hats/guitar cases. I always stop to let people walk across the road in front of me. If someone asks me for help I'll pretty much always say yes...hang on, does that mean I'm just a pushover. My weekend was very fun, a 13 mile paddle on Saturday morning and a lot of fun Saturday night with my neighbors! Hugs to you all! Kathleen |
