Follow the Geekers shaped blur.My last journal was leaving from England? damn. The last few weeks were a non stop blur of stuff happening. sorry faithful readers.A whole lot has happened, and a WHOLE lot more will happen in the next two weeks. I'll go over the major points of the last two weeks, in handy bullet point style. - Got home from England. Still haven't fully unpacked. - Preformed in a gong show. was in two acts, first was a friend playing a small tune on a accordion, he was dressed in a suit with a stuffed tiger of his head and I dressed in a suit with a cardboard tree attached to my face, holding a wooden spoon, hitting a cymbal when the music stopped. Then he'd play the tune again, slightly faster. We were going for surreal. The audience had no idea what to think of us. We went for two minutes before they figured out we weren't doing anything else and gonged us. Second act was from Monty python, I silly walked on staged, then got into a fish slapping dace with a girl, and she kept hitting me till they gonged us. I also yelled out "help help, I'm being oppressed." it was fun. The not fun part was I started to get sick after the plane right home, my throat hurt, it just kept getting worse. Had a fever for a day too, only realizing it after it had gone away. I realized I had spent the whole day thinking it was hot outside, wearing only a t shirt and a light jacket, and everyone else was wearing heavy coats, it was minus five out. Yep. Had a fever. spent the fever day going to see Toy Story and Toy Story 2 back to back in 3D. best. way. to. recover. EVER. I'm just now finally getting over being sick. I say that, having flat out denied I was sick the whole time. (yes, even when I had the fever I denied it.) I survived on going though a pack of halls a day. Also had a fun raising concert for my film. It went well, was a extremely fun night, had three bands play, and saw some friends, and met some cool new people. Also raised awareness for The Last, which is always a good thing. The Last also has a paypal account if anyone is interested in donating money to my film. I'll just leave this link here... If you want to help make film geeks dream come true. I told a joke at the fund raiser to a few people, I'll share it here. How do you make a small fortune in independent film making? Start with a large one. I got home from the fund raiser at 4 in the morning. This was Thursday night. I then got up at 7 the next morning. It was brutal. Why did I get up so ungodly early? I was a PA (production assistant) on a friend's film shoot. he was shooting a teaser for a horror film he's making. It was lots of fun, we shoot in a old unused subway station. Covered it in blood and bullet casings and bits of plaster. (I spread out the plaster.) Check it out, it looks epic. It was so cool seeing them work. (it was shoot on a RED camera. I love.) Then for Halloween I went to the Rocky Horror Shadow cast. 4 times. They had two shows on Friday night (yes, the Friday I was on set all day. I'm still not sure how I stayed awake.) then two more shows the next day. I totally lost my voice the day after the halloween show. two nights, four screenings of Rocky Horror, screaming call back lines at every one... No voice left after that. I went dressed as Alex from Clockwork Orange. I even got on stage for one of the shows, as the guy who gets married in the first scene. then, because I was dressed as Alex, I got into a mock fight with Brad, and beat the hell out of him. I also joined the cast, so in a few months I'll be performing with them as well. On Halloween I also went to a friend's wedding, yes, they got married on Halloween. The groom walked down the aisle with a cape on, to the Batman theme from Batman 89. the bride walked down the aisle to the romantic music from Edward Scissor hands. they got married in a movie theater, and lit candles inside a pumpkin. It was easily the coolest wedding I've ever been to. Also had a rehearsal for my film, I'm extremely happy with the actor I cast, he's very good, super close to what I imagined when I wrote the script, and takes direction well. How is my movie doing you ask? AMAZING. Things are working super well, and not only that, but FAST. We're shooting in... a week and a half. This is hell week for me. Every day I'm doing something, calling someone, making sure things are going well. I've called about twenty people a day for the last three days. Busy busy busy. So... you might not hear to much from me in the next few weeks. Sorry for being a ghost, I miss you all. So much work to do in such a short time. Not that I'm complaining, I love it. After three years of working at it, my dreams are coming true and I'm making a movie. if you're interested in updates, I tend to post short ones on face book more then on here. I'll try to make sure I post them on here as well though. How have you all been? Also, I'll post a journal only about this later this week, but I'm also getting ready for sending out Christmas cards, if you want one again this year, send me your mailing address. same deal as always, I don't expect one back, it'd be nice, but you don't have to. If you want a card, I'll send you one. I sent out nearly a 100 last year, I want to see if I can top that this year. Sorry for the huge wall o text update, next time I'll post one sooner so it's not so much all at once. LINKED MEDIA
